Just a little note to put out there since I didn't really expect this video to get as many views as it did. This project was never meant to be anything special, it's just a simple, silly little thing thrown together in a week to test out an effect and to fill in a media assignment for my class. That being said, thank you for the mostly-positive words. I plan to post more "refined" work in the future.

Often the „silly little projects” are the ones with more soul and heart put into it than anything a company could make. Keep being amazing and creative

Don't downplay your work here. You had a creative idea and the impressive part is that you executed on it (most people cant/wont). Great job.

"High School Project", "...never meant to be anything special"? I haven't seen such awesome quality from fellow students in my _college_ video production classes so this one decimates them all. Not putting down the efforts made by my peers, but just saying in comparison this one looks like you gave it your all... in a week's effort!

@@KamJ2010 Critiques? As far back as 2010 if memory serves right. They became ignored when everyone's ADHD kicked in so I stopped. They were lengthy but very detailed and broken down immaculately. The format of 5 to 60 second clips ruined a lot of peoples' attention span so good content often goes ignored. =\

Your video has me crying, it's that good. Take oh me is one of my favorite songs from the 80's , when I was a teen. Here's the mushy part. My mon recently passed away, and the day before her funeral, I told myself I wasn't going, because I was going to make a fool of myself, not being able to control my emotions. Then, IT HIT ME! " Im.gonn sing the song Take on me in my head as loud as I can during the entire service , and drown out all the sappy words bring said ! " And that's just what I did. And it worked . So Take on me has a very special place In my heart. You guys did a fantastic job with your video. Congratulations ! ❤️❤️❤️

Yo love the video. Could you tell me how you got the color to change in a specific area (the mirror/window) at 2:24 and how you were able to track it at 2:25.
@aduckwholikesfilm7 ай бұрын
There are two footage clips on display here. The live action one and the one with the scribble effect. The scribble effect is on top of the live action one to which I used a mask to reveal the live action footage underneath. I then keyframed the mask to track the movement of the mirror. If you want to learn more about masking use these links: With After Effects (paid): kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX7QiHyZbZ17eqM&ab_channel=AfterEffectsBasics With Davinci Resolve (free): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnzclWhqepinfNk&ab_channel=DanVinci If you want to know how to get that scribble effect I used the pre-comp from this video from Red Giant: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJTMnGN6asdqhs0 The effect video is also in the description.

Meh. Original is better even being 40 years older.
@aduckwholikesfilm Жыл бұрын
I agree, but to be fair, this was just meant to be a silly little project to test editing skills. There was never an incentive for trying to make it "better". The original had several hundreds of hours of labor put into over 2000 individual frames of real rotoscope animation by REAL PROFESSIONALS, not just high school kids like us. I wouldn't really call it a fair comparison in that regard, but you are allowed to have your own opinion of course.
