Its sometimes difficult to watch the eating habits in other countries. In no way do I believe one is better than another. I will say old habits die hard. For example: In America, you don't reach across a table for food. You ask and send your plate around. You don't see or hear food chewing while eating. Please and thank you are part of everyday life. I grew up very strict. I didn't raise my own children that way. We couldn't have elbows on the table. Sat up straight to where it was ridiculous. We see what the kids eat at home. If there is meat, there is never enough to eat your fill. That's what Mom buys when she goes to the market, she buys 1 fish to feed 6 or 7 people, she buys pork that is almost entirely fat meat because she likes the taste of fat meat and the flavor it gives vegetables when stir fried. When the children eat out with their parents and they see several kinds of meats and lots of it, they just want to dive in and make sure they get their share. No one corrects them of their bad behavior so the next time they go out to eat, they do the same thing.
