i absolutely loved the Aurumite headjoint! i have a Powell sonare 905 (a silver flute which has an aurumite lip plate, crown and barrel) and i feel it gives me a lot of freedom in terms of sound color (the best of both worlds = a combo of silver and gold)

Ooh I was rly surprised by the 14k Lip plate venti! It almost sounded like an alto flute! I also thought the 9k auri Lumina sounded very much like a "chamber playing" headjoint, it had a very earthy/natural sound and sounded like it'll blend amazing in the wind section of an orchestra. The last 9k philharmonic headjoint sounded like it'll project really well across a hall!

Since you’re playing three different head joint cuts, it may not just be the material they are made from, but the cuts as well. I own a Powell Aurumite and tried 3 different Aurumite head joint cuts before keeping the soloist cut. I also own a Nagahara 14K flute with a Galway cut head joint that gives me the best sound. I had a different 14k Nagahara head joint that sounded great, but the Galway cut (which also has a platinum riser) had more depth and projected better. Material AND cut are both very important. Maybe you could do a video about the different cut head joints. Thanks!

Der Silberkopf kling sehr gut, der Beste von allen. Nicht die teuerste Flöte klingt am besten. Marcel Moyse hat zeitlebens auf einer Neusilberflöte gespielt und alle weiteren Fragen , ob Gold oder Silber , verärgert abgelehnt. " Fangt an zu üben , dann braucht ihr auch keine Goldflöte". Recht hatte er!

Well, I don't think that I can hear accurately on my computer speakers, so it's very, very qualified. The 9k sounded a bit more like the wooden headjoints that I had just listened to you play and had the most character on my bad computer speakers. You talked less in this video about how each sounded and felt to your ears than on the wooden headjoints. How did you feel about articulation on the 9k and in general on these? It's a pleasure to hear you play any time!!! You could make a tin can sound like a million bucks!
