Not to be the "well actually" guy, but...well, actually, the Scorpion ending is him and Smoke escaping the Lin Kuei and setting up a new group, the Shirai Ryu, named in honor of Scorpion's new wife/lover Shirai. It's in Smoke's ending we see Hanzo, as they are struggling to find initiates for their new clan when Smoke is attacked in their compound. He bests the attacker, learning It's a kid named Hanzo Hisashi, who becomes the first initiate of the Shirai Ryu.

I believe Takeda is the Grandmaster title for the Shi-rai Ryo, since Takeda Takahashi around 1200-1300 A.D. was the first who established this branch of Shadow Warriors, the name Takeda is to honor their founder for the years to come. Remind that most Western fans do not know the pronunciation for Takeda is written in Mandarin as 武田(military/combat field) or 竹田 (Bamboo field) and his name is deeply associated with their main warrior sect 林鬼 (Lin Kuei meaning Forest Ghost/Demon). All to suggest they dedicate towards martial improvement and mysticism, except the Lin Kuei tend to focus more on combat efficiency hence their blind devotion for Cyber Initiative while the Shirai Ryu focus on improving martial prowess thru skill instead of self-mutilation.

Unless I am incorrect, usually for the most part characters who appear as DLC aren't considered canon to the game's story unless it's a situation like Aftermath in MK 11 where the characters appear AFTER the fact in a story expansion, therefore canonizing them. So it's possible that this Takeda will be his MK X self and was added as DLC because he simply wouldn't make any sense as a base roster character in MK 1.

Saying Smoke not having a Japanese accent means it's impossible for him to be Hanzo is stupid, especially if they're trying to hide the reveal. Takeda in the DLC trailer is clearly an older man, yet everyone revealed so far with the exception of Liu Kang are younger versions of themselves, so it'd be weird to not only make one of MK's MAIN fan favorite characters both be DLC exclusive and radically older than the entire rest of the roster

Well the Kombat Kids are not born yet in the latest timeline. But they did appear around the mid point of ascending the pyramid in the final battle, where Kitana sliced them up. So this Takeda will either be the original founder of Shirai Ryu, or Takeda Takahashi... either way, from a different timeline.

Handover will probably be back in MK13 because he's currently a kid on a training arc in this game ( go to Smokes Tower ending for more)

Hanzo is in smokes ending. And all the endings seem to align together. Oddly all the endings for 11 appear to also be canonical because of multiple timelines. The Hanzo in the MK1 timeline was found by smoke.

I'm starting to think after Kuai Liang and Tomas Vrbada's ending may lead to Kombat Pack Hanzo Hasashi. Takeda was killed at the Pyramid Of Argus along with the other Kombat Kids.

Hanzo gets found by Thomas in his mk1 ending. he's a teenager int his timeline and has jsut started his training in Kuai Liang's Shirai ryu and Shirai is Kuai Liang's wife in this timeline. so I'm thinking the Takeda in the kombat pack is from another timeline since they've opened that can of worms up in mk1's ending.

Kuai Liang in the new MK1 ended up forming the Shirai Ryu after the betrayal of his brother Bi-Han. Although one can assume that Hanzo is prob out living peacefully with his family rn, since he always wanted that, it sadly will not last long. The Lin Kuei are always destined to be assassins and Bi-Han’s Sub-Zero is always destined to murder Hanzo’s family. So it is very likely that at some point down the line in the MK1 storyline, Hanzo’s family will die anyway, Bi-Han will be killed and become Noob Saibot, Kuai Liang will give up the mantle of Scorpion to Hanzo and Kuai Liang will claim the title of Sub-Zero and reshape the Lin Kuei, as Hanzo equally tries to rebuild the Shirai Ryu. No matter how much meddling and changing Liu Kang does to the timeline, those events are always destined to happen. We are still in the beginning of this new era, so it is likely that those events will be seen in the upcoming future.

From everything I've gathered: 1.Kuai will likely die by Bi-hans hand and will stay Sub. Hanzo, currently a kid, will train to become a new Scorpion following Kuais mantle trained by Smoke. 2. Bi-han, will likely get killed by Hanzo then become Noob. Cyrax and Sector are probably humans for now then later on will become the cyborgs we know them as. 3. I'm praying (incoming Headcanon), that we get a new Sub-zero. One that is out of the Sub and Noob dilemma (or Death spiral paradox) and is also trained by Smoke. Something bout "Grandmaster Smoke" sounds very, very good to me.
