hey, Take! How are you enjoying WRC9? I have been playing a lot of DiRT Rally2.0 lately. How do they compare? GG on the drive!

ConnerSpeed6 When looking on the videos of wrc 9 it dosnt give me so much hope. Looks like There isnt so much real feeling. Dirt 2 is for me as real it can be, you feel when you brake in a corner how you get grip on that wheel you want.

@@ConnerSpeed6 TLDR below: I've played it, and I think the cars seem wierd because the chase cam moves up and down. When you actually drive it (I only use cockpit cam because I'm useless at chase camera positions XD), it feels really natural. You can't slam on the accelerator in this like you can in DiRT, if you look at the real telementery WRC drivers never slam the gas. If you watch the Colin McRae pedal camera video, he says "Your first instinct is to hit the brakes when your understeering" (Slams on brake pedal and ends up in trees) "But what you actually need to do is use the accelarator to get round" (apllies throttle and some left foot braking and neatly swoops around the corner). Also when you go on a jump you can pitch the car, unlike in DiRT. I think you should get it when it's on sale, the stages are sublime in this. Be warned that RWD may feel wierd though (I tried on WRC 8 and it felt really odd. Might try again on 9 at some point), but you've also got NGP6 if you want a RWD expierince. You might feel differently to me once you play it though, since we all feel different things. TLDR: Get it on sale if you want a little go

@@Emmets80 Funny thing but couple of months ago I talked with a rally guy in an expo where I had a change to test these sim racing setups (wheel, chair, monitors). There the game was dirt 2.0. I talked with the guy after the test and one thing he mentioned though was that what dirt2 doesn't do right, is the braking situation. If I remember right what he mentioned was that in dirt2 you get this traction when you brake, as you mention, but in real you get locking wheel and thus understeer. So if you have locking wheel on gravel, the car goes forward even if you steer and doesn't curve into corner. I have driven only like one run on dirt2 so I don't personally know how the game is. But just wanted to point out that braking doesn't necessarily give you any grip.

Honestly, I thought this car was RWD until I googled it, the way it turns sharply without the need of going too much sideways seemed like an RWD thing. Is this more realistic than dirt rally 2.0 or is it the opposite? cuz by the look of it, this one doesn't seem very realistic. What do you think?

Possibly because it was tail-heavy, that's why the evolution got a shorter wheelbase. But no, the Quattro was the very first car in WRC to have AWD. There's also the GT Coupe that's pretty much the same car but FWD. I find it somewhat sad that being the first of a heritage that holds to this day, the long wheelbase model doesn't appear on almost any modern racing games (aside from this one), they just go for the SWB one. Also because I had a GT Coupe for a while and loved to race with it in Gran Turismo 5.

Is it me or the handling on this game is like the "gamer mode" in Dirt 4? It sucks. It looks too much like an arcade game, and even that Dirt 4 feature is a bit tricky to master. I thought WRC games were simulation games, but i guess i'm wrong...
