Growing up in Eugene Oregon. A fan of the Ducks. Grows up going to all their games and happens to be good enough to play for his favorite team. Goes through 3 head coaches in 4 years at Oregon. 4-8 as a Freshmen and 12-2 a Pac 12 Championship and a Rose Bowl as a senior. A fan of the Chargers as a kid and gets drafted to them. You can't write a better story than that.

@@Mari-dm3si Let me explain... movies are edited for “theatrical release” (meaning for general release to theaters) and they are edited to meet certain limitations required by the theaters. Usually movies are edited for length. Theater owners want to sell tickets and overly long movies mean theater goers don’t “turn over” fast enough. Shorter movies, within limits, sell more tickets. A “Director’s Cut” doesn’t take those limitations into account and the director decides how to edit the movie to best tell the story he or she is trying to tell. Sometimes they’re called the “extended version”. Hope that helps.

Us OR folks are so proud of this kid. We live through him bc like he said, NONE of this was expected. He’s very sincere and honest even at the combine. He was not even close to a blue chip. Loved playing different sports during their seasons and maybe getting a chance to go to college to play Div 1AA. No camps, one D1 offer, no hyping himself up on social media. He saw these NFL players like we do. Ppl are always going to want more content but you won’t get it. He’s never changing. He doesn’t see himself more important than anyone else.

For what it's worth, I grew up an OSU fan. (I grew up in Salem, near Corvallis, and ended up a Beaver). My OSU-alumni parents started taking me to games beginning when I was three years old. I just missed seeing Fouts play in the old Civil War games (or was too young to even know who he was), but went on to watch the likes of Musgrave, Chris Miller, Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Marcus Mariota, among other Duck greats, regularly destroy the Beavers. (Ahmad Rashad was a memorable one on those teams, too.) Like Herbert, I picked the Chargers to root for (mainly because my Grandmother + three sports-crazed uncles who lived in San Diego during my childhood. The Chargers were the first team I fell in love with). As much as I love beating the Ducks, I have nothing but respect for them and their program. Justin Herbert just added to that in a big way. It pains me to say this, but I'm now a HUGE fan of that Duck! SMH...
