I take it you mean at 5:30 when water spurts out of the pipe...to the uninitiated it may look like a water pipe was broken...but this is where the soil was removed from around the joint where the clay drainage pipes were butted together and the weight of the water forces it's self out through the joint.

Old school drainage...yeah drainage has moved on a bit from this type of pipe or even horseshoe drains laid on elm boards.

It is a credit to the design just how long it has lasted though. I've run into a lot of pipe around here referred to as "orangeburg" pipe. Its a fiber pipe made up of wood pulp I believe. So by the time I see it, it looks like a collapsed piece of cardboard. Its mostly used in the old septic systems to go from the house to the cesspool. It has overlapping joints, but the weight of the soil generally crushes it flat.

Clay tile like that is more common than u think. If you are good and use a probe u only need to dig one or 2 holes not 4. And that is not the correct way to fix tile, the way he did. There are only so many reasons a tile is plugged. A tile fell in, an animal crawled up the tile, or the tile was plowed through with a new line meaning they didn't probe existing tile. The correct way is to find exactly where its blocked and remove the animal or replace the broken tile. Not fixing it like its a sewer system.
