Taki Ichamati nodi
Ichhamoti is a beautiful river separating India and Bangladesh. I visted Taki in Sept.2021 and enjoyed the mesmerizing view of the river. If you stand on the bank of Ichhamoti, you will see Bangladesh on the other side -- green, green and green. Down memory lane of Indian history it was one country and there was no bar to cross the river.
Boating on Ichhamoti is really an exciting experience. Indian boats carry Indian flags on top as Bangladeshi boats have Bangladeshi ones. Boat will take you upto Mohona, the meeting point of Ichhamoti with river Kalindi and the river Bidyadhari. You can have a close view of Bangladesh from here.
Taki is a weekend destination near Kolkata. You can reach here by local train or by road from Kolkata via Basanti Highway. 67 KM-about two and a half hours drive. Road condition is good. There are lots of budget hotels and guest houses in Taki. Most of the guest houses are on the bank of Ichhamoti. You can sit on the balcony whole day or stroll along the bank of the river and feel. In the words of Rabindranath Tagore : " Jakhan jemon mone kori, Tai hote pai jodi, Ami tabe ekkhani hoi, Ichhamoti nodi..........".
Thank you for watching.
