If you only buy the 1 Shop Moon that actually goes into the list for each Kingdom, there's 880 moons total. Buying extra is just to get to 999, which unlocks a minor Easter egg. Anyway, Chugga's house is nice. Every time I hear you're coming to Atlanta, I think stupidly that I could maybe run into you guys. But I'm an hour north of the city, so realistically I'm never even wandering around those areas. That mall/restaurant area looked familiar though.

The shop moons are actually infinite. He's right that there's one moon in each shop per world, and those are the only ones that count on the lists, but you can buy however many you want after you beat the game. Just clarifying because this confused me to no end when I first played, and they never really warn you about spending too many of your coins on pointless moons.
