What you said in the beginning about finding things you like to do in your day that you enjoy reminded me of something someone told me last week. She said you have to do things you enjoy because people say life is short but it’s actually really long😂 so fill it with what you love where you can.❤

You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I’ve been battling a bit of depression, just got over a bad sickness and have been forcing myself to draw and it doesn’t feel right. You’re so right, you must be patient with your practice. I think I’m focusing too much on making stuff for my shop or my portfolio versus just creating to create. I was feeling so overwhelmed because I can’t slow down. Thank you so much! I felt the passion pouring back into a piece I’m redoing (my partner and I holding hands) but neglected it for designs to sell and it feels great to have the line art how I envisioned it. I was going to color as that’s my favorite part, but I’m going to be patient and work on that tomorrow. I worked for about 40 minutes while catching up on your videos and this last one made me feel so whole again. Thank you honestly ☺️ these past few weeks have been quite hard for me mentally.

My mom's side of the family is Chinese/Taiwanese and seeing you at your parent's home and speaking to them makes me nostalgic for that side of my family - especially my grandmother's house. I use to speak Mandarin when I was a kid but it's been lost to me ever since we moved to US and growing up with my dad's side of the family (English American). 😔Not like we're disconnected from my mom's family, but the language barrier proves to be an unfortunate part of communication (I'd love to try to relearn it someday). Also though, I love seeing your dad's ceramic works and glad they take the time to be creative and have fun. A great lesson for everyone imo. 🥰

I really love that you added subtitles for the parts that weren't in English. I watch a lot of these kind of vlogs from other creators who also speak a second language and most of them won't bother adding translated subtitles for clips where they or someone else are speaking in a language other than English. It's a nice touch and I was super happy to see it in your video! (Edit: wanted to add and say that the part of the video where your friends drew in your sketchbook was so heartwarming. It reminded me of when me and my friends used to pass around sheets of notebook paper and everyone would add a little doodle. ❤)

I call the foxtail fern an asparagus fern, and those little berries are seeds. I nabbed some from a neighbor’s plant once on a jog and planted them in pandemic boredom. It totally worked!
