In case anyone's watching this in preparation for the trek: There is a suuuper nice path from Muktinath through Kagbeni to Jomsom that doesn't follow the road. Highly recommend it, it was one of the most impressive parts for me!

I did the Annapurna circuit in 1989. It's changed so much, It had to be walked the whole way! Good or bad that's progress I guess and if it benefits the Nepalese I'm all for it.
