Wow, it's great to see this brick and mortar game store selling physical media. As a physical media collecter, it makes me happy to see these stores in business in Ireland at a time when everything is online and stores like this are very rare now. Especially when Xtravision went under. Game, HMV, and Gamestop pulled out of the Irish market.

Long may they last! I do fear for the future of physical media but as long as stores like this persevere and collectors like us keep finding space to put it all it’ll keep its place in the world!

It's so refreshing to find a video game channel from Ireland. Nothing against all the US channels but unfortunately they are not really relevant if you don't live in the States. Next time I'm in Wexford I'll definitely pay a visit. Thanks a million, I subscribed.

Thanks so much for checking it out really appreciate it! Yeah I was watching the American lads during Covid and couldn’t find anyone here doing it so decided to give it a lash myself! Taken a few years to get into the swing of things but finding my feet in it lately! Anyway thanks again and defo pay the store a visit. The glass cases are getting installed this week can’t wait to see how it looks once they’re all set up and ready to go!

He definitely is so happy to see it going so well for him! Well worth a spin down. Didn’t bother checking out the charity shops coz only really had a few hours but spotted a good 5 or 6! Don’t think there’d be much doing with a cex and a dedicated game shop in the same town though!

Subscribing based on this video! Class store, we have nothing like this in Sligo sadly. The only two shops that sell hardcopies of games for us is CEX or Smyths. Raging Gamestop pulled from Ireland as we had a decent one, but I can't get over why they never went the Retro Route and pulling out seemed the better option. I would never have sold my PS3 back in the day if I knew it was my last chance to play the original RE Trilogy and Dino Crisis! Will definitely be going the retro route in the near future though, I remember playing the PS1 when I was 5 in 1996 and playing Resident Evil. I'm addicted since then and now at 33 years old 😅 Thanks for the content 🤝

I know overheads must be high but probably would have been better to maybe keep a chunk in key locations. Move away from the current gen and pop culture model they were concentrating on and as you said get back into the retro a bit more! Never really bought much brand new from them but always enjoyed a rummage around when they had the sales on such a shame!

@@RetroGamesIreland Yeah I don't understand why the retro thing for them never appealed. They potentially have the biggest buy power for that market so stock shouldn't be an issue. I plan on buying a Steamdeck before Christmas and emulating all the classics through that since RE2 & RE3 isn't being sold lower than €60 from what I can see. I really hope Capcom see how popular MGS & Tomb Raider collections were and even just release them as is! CEX just isn't reliable for hardware even with the "24 month" warranty. Nothing but horror stories from people when they buy anything.

I get them from this exact store! They stopped doing them for a while because of the move to the new space but have just started doing them again. Not sure if there’s a link but can contact them through the website (it’s linked in the video description) or they’re on Facebook, Instagram and everywhere else I’m sure you could send them a dm to ask about them! Great way to start building a collection! Good luck with it!

Keen to see the growth of this new location. It looks a bit clinical right now but some more colour and decoration would be ideal. I hope they really lean into the retro side and even preowned goods. So old gaming figures, guide books, collectors editions etc. Huge huge potential for this store. Unfortunately Brexit made retail especially tough with customs and import fees, thats why you dont see many independent gaming stores now

Yeah it used to be so much easier to get stuff before it. Suppose that’s the joy of having a physical premises better chance of stuff coming to you. I’m sure it’ll grow into a class spot listening to some of the plans they have for it. Lots of inventory and services we’ve been lacking here for a while coming down the line

Good video ....But There is a major problem with retro games shops in Ireland ... Once someone goes in and buys everything there is no more stock and no point to go back to that store because nobody wants to sell there collection... I saw it happen with another Irish game shop in Dublin.... The rage .......it also doesn't help if you go into the store and people who are trying to sell u stuff have the mind of potato

I’m glad it’s a two hour drive I’d be remortgaging the house to pay for games 😂😂 We take turns so one will drive the other shoots the b roll. She has the nicer car so I tend to grab the b roll a bit more!
