Taking a Security+ 701 Practice Exam | Is the 701 Version Harder??

I passed my 701 literally at 1:30am on 5/13/24, I took it at home. I thought I would fail bc I kept scoring high 70s, sometimes mid 60s, and only got 85 once on the practice exams. I am so grateful to God that I passed, bc I prayed so much before , and during the exam to pass & I did. Now moving on to the next difficult projects & landing a remote job.

I definitely felt the same way when studying for my 601. Take it one section, one term at a time. No need to rush. Make sure you understand the material, and move on!

research how to study and retain information. a couple videos from youtube explained the best methods to study. This will help you feel more confident when studying and that your studying isn't in vain.

Take small bites of the elephant. I took the Sec+ "101 Cert for Life" exam back in 2007 and passed. That test was a lot easier since network security wasnt the advanced version of what Cyber Security is today. I took the 701 recently. Study a little bit and start taking those practice exams. Focus on those weak areas and have a running notes sheet (in Word or hand written, if you wish).

@Racoons4Change got through about 3/4 of Professor messer's playlist, then it was time for me to take it. A lot of it is common sense, so if u study, you will be good.

@TerryCochran-jb6jx I took it with no studying and failed with a 640. I plan on retaking it sometime in January. But compared to security, it is a bit harder, imo.you gatto know your stuff for the network. For security, it's a lot of common sense and knowing different attacks.

Please is the 601 and 701 same things or they are different.

They are DIFFERENT to an extent. If you study the 601, don’t think that you’ll be set for the 701. They have some overlapping similarities, but they both have different sections that the other dosent cover. Please study the specific exam you’ll be taking!

Also the 601 will be retired end of July 2024 so make sure you have enough time to study for it if you choose that one.

Compass tests are good to practice and knowledge but comptia is always harder ,the way how they ask questions like if they want you to fail. Main thing as advice study to learn and and get knowledge don't study just to pass . The more you understand the easier the test . As far as pbqs they are always crappy lol

I took my practice exam with very minimal studying and got an 82% (I think I got lucky with some of it lol) but that's still pretty cool ig. Wish me luck in studying for the real thing lol

I'm studying me too comptia sec+......i don't have any problems with that... but my problem is with the English language lol...there are so many words that i don't know ....at least i improved my grammatar that now i started with b1 level....
