Taking A Test Ride On The ElliptiGO SUB

I got my sub last week and its a great bike! When riding it feels somewhat like a BMX bike with 20" tires but you have eight gears and of course you're standing up. I feel like the bike is a more hybrid of many different styles of bikes into one and I can't see anything I would change about it. I love it and completely worth the purchase!

@@HelloHello-hk4sx The Elliptigo Stand Up Bike was specifically designed for people to stand up comfortably and ride. Your fold up bike with a seat that can be taken off, might not be designed to ride comfortably without a seat for long periods of time. One of the comfort features an Elliptigo SUB bike has is that the pedals are much longer than a regular bike.

I bought one last year only to return it for a Very nice recumbent bike. The pedal stroke on the Sub was very choppy and all I wanted to do was sit down. Oops couldn't do it.

Hi Robert. You're correct. The SUB (stand up bike) does not have the same elliptical motion as our other products. This has a traditional, circular pedal motion.

I'd go to your local bike shop, swap them out with mountain bike clips. Will need biking shoes with compatible mountain biking clips. It may feel awkward at first, but you'll have a lot better control over the doohickey.

I'm seriously thinking of doing that to a fold up bike I ordered. Another reason why I want to seat completely off is so I won't be tempted to sit down cause well, I can't. Nothing teaches you like not having a choice! 😁

@@elliptigo oh I see. I'm getting a fold up bike but I'm going to use it like an elliptigo by taking off the seat post. Do you think that will work? My fold up bike looks the same by the way. The frame shape & height are the same so that's not going to be an issue. The only other difference besides the seat post (which is small) is mine is white. (everyone else seem to have the other colors, I want mine to be different).

Great idea and I love the design but way overpriced for what you get. A regular bike with the same components would be less than half the price. I dont see how standing up increases the price of the bike. For me it would need higher end gears and hydraulic brakes to justify the price. I would love to see them available with internal gear hubs. Cool bikes for sure!

Cause it's unusual, interesting, better exercise & the parts are made with better quality. Not that I'm saying I disagree with you that's it's way overpriced, I'm just saying why I think they priced it like that.

Hello Hello I don’t see where any of the parts are really high quality. The frame looks well made tho using aluminum. Pedals made from aluminum instead of cheap plastic would have been a nice touch or even an aluminum chain guard. You mentioned using your folding bike without the seatpost as an alternative. I don’t think it would be the same at all because the frame tube of the elliptigo is much longer and the handlebar stem is taller too. $1300 Canadian plus tax is a little steep I think but I would certainly love to try one out tho.

I thought ELIPTIgos claim to fame was the elliptical motion so if it has a circular peddle stroke how is it an eliptigo? And doesn’t this undermine your supposed benefits of the eliptical eliptigos claims?

Apparently they have 3 versions, circular, very elliptical and in the middle: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYbTlWV3m9h5i5Y To me the circular (this one) is just like riding a usual bike standing up- which I always love to do- except your posture is better 'cause you're up straight due to the handlebar position.

This has nothing to do with elliptic movement, you should call it CircularGo. Elliptical movement advantage is that it reduces stress on knee joints. I personally would not buy this product, sorry guys but i think it is just better if you drop your entry ellpitGo to the price you are selling this one and you would have more sales.

A circle is a special case of an ellipse where the two focal points coincide, so technically this still qualifies as an ElliptiGo. This is the same as how a square is a special case of a rectangle. But yes, this just a bicycle without a seat.
