Thanks for the very thorough presentation, and the 'after' results you show at the end of this fine video

The steps are basic for all kinds of plant propagation. The useful bit here is the timing and consistentcy of the cutting you need to take for success. Only missing bit is the schedule of how often you mist them and when you should expect the rooting to occur.

Thank you! We moved to my grandparents' house after they moved houses and they left a huge rhododendron tree that is 8 feet tall and 13 feet wide. My grandma adored the tree and I hope to propagate a few pieces for her. I don't like rhododendron bushes. I like ones that are trimmed into trees. My dog loves to sleep under our tree and we don't mind as long she doesn't dig.

What if you do not have a misting system. Also where is the best place to keep the cuttings if you do not have a greenhouse? Many thanks. Graham

Will this work for all Rhododendron varieties? There is a huge Rhododendron forest above our house in the village. I want to take their cuttings and grow them. It's Rhododendron arboreum in its natural habitat.

This was very useful as I've never successfully rooted rhododendron cuttings before. Have you made a 'how to video' on Camellia cuttings?
@Burncoose4 жыл бұрын
No, we do have several articles on Camellia care and propagation though. www.burncoose.co.uk/site/content.cfm?ref=Camellia+-+Care+Guide

Did you ever get one to root? I am having same problem.
@CardiacCat9 ай бұрын
@@robzaphy Not sure if you ever got one to root, but if you do not have a greenhouse like they have in the video, the method my mom taught me for propagating plants is to cover the plant container with a white kitchen trash bag and tie it around the pot. Keep an eye on the moiture of the rooting medium every week. This should be placed in a warm shady area. A small amount of filtered sunlight is okay but not direct sun. This may help you with your propagation success. I will be trying some Rhododendron using this method, as it's worked for all of my other cuttings.
