I use similar 2x2 buildings surrounded by 1x1 buildings for bars and plates production. It's pretty straightforward to build a behavior that will grab the global supply of bars and plates and then modify the visual register (which controls the fabricators) depending on what the balance is. That way you dynamically switch between producing bars and plates depending on their ratio.

Bars and plates seem to be a item you need a LOT of, so maybe I do need to look at a multipurpose system. But then again it seems you need a lot of plate and not a lot of bars, so I might just keep a dedicated build and upgrade it again!

after getting access to blight, i got rid of of wind turbines as they're unreliable and stops working during blight storm solar panels work 24 hrs when built inside the blight as the area give off light

12:17 I'd say that suboptimal building to use for a storage. There's 1×1 which provide 24 or so inventory. Alternatively there's 1×2 2M building which you can equip with 2M storages for 26 inventory. Either one of these options pack way more items in the same space as this monstrosity.

my solution to auto moving store locations, and pickups, is to mark them with the signal of the item the behaviors then use the signal loop block to find the storages it does mean you have to be careful with where and how you use signals

This game is kind of weird to play as an rts player but it feels like an rts game, factorio and valheim with sandbox elements and more focused on building with automation. It has a learning curve and new to me but kind of more relaxing than an rts. I like it but suck at programming lol.

Have you unlocked the 24-slot storage? I am wondering why you are going with the larger 3x2 building, instead of just straight replacing the 8-slot storage. You would have denser storage per tile. You could also add two IC storage to most of them to bump up the number of slots to 26. I know that I have this on my mind for when I can get up to that level of technology. When you get the scanner unlocked, will you spend some time looking at the process for solving a human explorable and a bug explorable? I have not reached that stage either. It would be nice to see one example of each. Is all of the power, for the combat team, being directed to a single bot? Would it make more sense to split the signal between two different bot types, so that, let's say the twin bots have one of their own as the power Sherpa, while the cubs have one of their own for themselves? That way, you will not have a single point of failure if the one bot is destroyed or out of range, and the two groups would be assured of power all of the time during their position rearranging manoeuvres. Are the drones working point-to-point? I think that you are relying on the 'flippies' to do the rest of the distribution, once the appropriate resources are transferred between production islands. I am accustomed to seeing the distribution outline for the flippies being your limiting factor for the size of the islands. I will need to readjust for the drone's coverage. To prevent the bots from getting stuck, because their pathfinding is poor, could you have a sub-routine check how long they have been 'stuck' at a single position, if they have a destination set? Does this happen more often when transitioning from plateau to valley or valley to plateau? Is a ramp a world feature that you can filter for in the radar? I saw in your build menu that you have access to large turbines. Will you start to build them soon, so that you can increase your power production, while maintaining the same footprint? Also, I cannot remember the power output difference between medium and large. Medium == 50 for valley and 100 for plateau. Large == ?? for valley and ?? for plateau. Was this covered in your power video? Silly question, but is there a way to turn off the ability of a building to supply through behaviour? This is where my mind is going. For each row of research, there seems to be the same intermediate required for all of them, but in different quantities. Could you build a stockpile in a few storages near to your main research area, so that you can shove everything through fast, and complete the research in the shortest time possible? Maybe that would be a good use for channel 2? The reason that I ask about turning off the supply ability is to prevent other bots from 'nicking' off with the already assigned intermediates to somewhere else in the base. Just turn it on again when you change research or a behaviour to update the locked slots according to what is next in the queue. This will require more thinking on my part. I will look for another video today or tomorrow.

All the power goes to the team leader, if he dies yes power stops, but ALSO the leader is dead so the behaviours break! Thats a way bigger issue! Larger wind turbines I think have 200 and 400, but honestly we are much closer to another step in the power chain which I think ill make the jump to very soon! As for turning off supply thats something I could do with the production blocks, rather then having the main storage supply to each building via the central flipper, I could use the store from the storage into the central building and then have it do the supply (via transporters only) this would stop other bots from stealing resources from a build so there are options all depending on how complicated you wish to make it!

The big problem with this game is that you must do too much programming... if I want to code, then I code... I do not use very many combinators in Factorio because I do not want to spend lots of time figuring out code nowadays... used to love it 30 years ago.

Note that this is one of the few games that I literally get headaches watching it being played... can only watch for a few minutes at a time.

I don't mind the programming in this one, factorio I avoid it since version 16ish when it became a whole lot more complicated. I found in Desynced much of the programming is optional and you can play it like a RTS where you manually do the explorables and manually do the combat, and I have also been streaming this game on Twitch were we did everything up to and past this point manually as we hadn't made the programs yet.
