Taking My 67 CAMARO To LS Fest Was INSANE *Coming Back With BOTH Cars*

I bought a 67 Camaro RS for only $6,500 and we LS swapped it to take to LS Fest East 2020. J&J Auto Wrecking pulled an LS2 out of a SAAB 9-7 Aero, and it's managed by a Holley Terminator X. We rebuilt the original Powerglide transmission, and installed a Posi-Trac differential to send power to both wheels. Now it's off to LS Fest for a weekend of fun, racing, drifting, and then non-stop rain.

Some of them were so totally destroyed they were unrecognizable. Manufacturers typically dismantle the stampings during new model changeover. Remaining new stampings are usually rare NOS (new old stock never sold). It's harder than you think to restore cars after so much damage.

Welcome to Kentucky, LS Fest is a Hoot, if it has wheels, someone's put an LS Engine in it. You need to come to Louisville next year in the first week of August to the U.S. Street Rod Nationals at the Ky. State Fairgrounds. They're obligated here till 2025, unless they decide to re-up their contract which could be longer.

8:00 made me think: Before installing any sort of aftermarket air cleaner, watch Banks Power KZbin channel - Killing a Duramax series. He does a great job explaining how you can kill your build (efficiency wise) by taking intake air from the hot engine compartment.

Yes JR I do love your car, much better than the late model Camaros, with that LS in it with coil-overs, and good paint job, you have one bad ass ride. one thing though, use rust converter on the whole car, or you will be very sorry when your new paint job starts to rust bubble. Ask me how I know. replace all of the seam asealer after you use rust converter. I prefer Epoxy Primer, it is great over a coat of etch primer. then sand everything again, an put PPG paint followed by 3 coats of clear. Colour sand and polish folled by swirl remover and you will have a Freaking perfect Car!

Great show again. On the steering do you have a new style pump with an old steering box? The new pumps put out a lot of pressure compared to the old type. The old steering boxes are light enough with lower pressure.

GM had some power steering units that took 4 to 4 1/4 steering wheel turns to turn the wheels to lock. Been awhile but they were easy to steer with one finger. Later they went to a variable power steering setup that increased the power assist the more you turned the wheel. Maybe somebody knows the full story.
