I've been in two workplaces where dogs were present - one was home-based, where the manager was a dog breeder (I forget which breed) and her four-legged friends were everywhere, cluttering up space and/or obstructing access to my desk, and the other was a health centre in which one of the nurses brought her dog (a little spaniel-type thing) to work every day (and no problems at all).
