I hope you read this. I have been doing offroading for years since a kid, I use an old jeep currently. Let me suggest getting a long arm, 4 linked lift kit of your choice, air lockers for your differentials, and better gear ratios, preferably a 4:56 or 4:88 ratio. Last but not least, snag up some MUD TERRAINS, they grip any and everything so much better then an all terrain tread. And you can ride 15psi on trails safely without beadlocks, running less then 15psi will require some beadlocks. And don't underestimate that older jeep you got, they are phenomenal with modifications, I myself, and others have ridden circles around newer wranglers all day every day. Good luck and kick some rocks, brother!

That Hummer likely has a G10 locking rear diff (check the build sticker inside the glove box if you're not sure - it's alphabetical). What it needs is a COMPLETE disable of Stabilitrak. There are KZbin videos on point. Push the T/C button, traction control turns off, Stabilitrak gets less aggressive. Hold it for longer (ten seconds? It's been a while) and Stabilitrak turns off about halfway. You can pull a fuse to turn it off permanently, but you'll get a bunch of dash lights. I wound up wiring an interrupt into the wire on my old Z71; flip a switch to disable ABS, Stabilitrak, and t/c. It makes a world of difference. A front locker would be awesome stuff, but it won't do you any good if the computer pulls power whenever it detects wheelspin. Note: that circuit has fairly big draw; use a relay or some serious wire.

You should use the diff locks more often. A lot of the times when you started to spin it was a one wheel spin. They’ll help a lot in those situations.

2:48 Yeah jeeps dont have hood struts because you are supposed to fold the hood all the way back against the browline. There is no need to use the prop. Every jeep will let the hood go all the way up and back, and most will put a pad or towel under it where it contacts the roof...
@Boozer632

Hey Gavin, here's a tip that I have learned while do stuff similar to what you are doing. when in soft sticky mud like what you are you want to keep your wheel speed up so that the force of the wheel turning will flick the mud out of the cleats of the tires. when they get packed with mud you want to clear them out since they are basically acting as slicks.

Would love to see more street racing, the gt350 and the black car too which im sure we can all agree on. This new shop in the backyard i assumed would have brought back OG shop vibes but we havent really gotten anything like it. I know you may be busy but you pushed this whole narrative that this new house/location would be insane content. The new vehicles are cool but we want stuff thats relatable and street racing, putting on parts, fixing cars is what's enjoyable to watch. And also theres been hardly any content with Justin either. Just my thoughts, but either way we'll always support

Wait until you get that thing to blue and black trails. You shouldn’t have any issues with blues even on the stock 33’s. Also be careful blasting through the water at speed. I know you know hydrolock but the 18+ wranglers and gladiators will shut off when air interruption is detected(water barely in the airbox). Will leave you stranded in the middle of the puddle.

Using slight brake pressure while trying to crawl, for both the jeep and H2,will help it act as diff lock (slightly). Also if you use your own diff lock any time you think you might spin or do start spinning, turn the diff lock. Using a diff lock in a mostly straight lower speeds, will do no harm. Having your diff lock on in sharp turns will majorly affect steering and make it feel like it doesnt want to turn. When in those situations, i needed diff lock and turn sharp, i block the rear tire on same side i want to turn to so i pivit turn.

Both vehicles did better than I expected in stock form with (no offense) novices behind the wheel. I'm sure they'll do even better once you get them dialed in further and gain more experience from your adventures. Mudholes are not your friend. It may initially seem fun until you figure out how nasty the red clay mud we have here in Georgia is. It's very fine and abrasive, so it gets into/in between every moving thing in your driveline and grinds everything up relatively quickly. Axles/CV shafts, bearings, brakes, seals, u-joints, etc., become highly wearable and often replaced when you spend much time at all in that stuff. I learned the hard way (among many others) while off-roading in several vehicles over the years. I try to go out when it's dry and stay out of mud and standing water. I enjoy the more technical stuff that requires traction rather than sliding around in the mud and/or sliding off the trail and into the trees.
