For striper in the colder weather (especially that deep, like 30-40ft) I like to vertical jig the bottom. I use a 1.5-2 oz jighead w/ a zman jerkshad (pretty much what you were using just heavier). It works great! I always use braid and flouro so I can feel the bounces on the bottom. Best of luck!!!

Tbh don’t know too much about stripper fishing and wanna catch one next year but for the winter from Videos and stuff I’ve seen use Alabama Rigs or Umbrella Rigs Or white Jerkbaits and just fish them slow but I would say best bet to catch them use Alabama Rigs and just slow roll them with White Swimbaits smth around there and rotate around with colors
