Exactly, the children were very disciplined and as you have mentioned that different systems, different culture that simple. I can understand that she doe not subscribe to the teacher having a stick as a scare tactic for the children and I am sure over time this too will eventually change. This is in place due how we were raised. “Slave relicts” They knew no different , I am sure it is phasing out.

I can’t wait for this type of discipline to come to an end. I believe in discipline but I don’t support corporal punishment or withholding food or sometimes chasing kids out of the house as a form of discipline.

@@FloKWellnessHub corparel punishment went out of the window 50 odd years ago as far as I know only in the prisons they did that and I think it was merely scare tactic because I recall parents saying “you better behave otherwise they will give lashes with cat o nine tail”. Just the thought of being beaten by that send chills down your spine to be beaten, so I understand this where the holding of the cane came in. Holding the cane I know it as well. It was dreaded.
