Can you use it the phone next to it just to take the payment?For example, the POS machine you can just type the amount without having your phone with the app next to it

There are versions that don’t need a phone but this one does. You can also take payments using just your phone now, in the app.

Not yet! I have tried the 3G though, it was't a success in rural Lincolnshire. Constantly searching for a signal. I had to return it and go back to the air. Thanks for your comment.

I've just got one of these for events.My question - is this used in conjunction with your phone device at all times? Is the digits on the Reader for entering PIN only? I've been sent a Sumup Credit Card which I dont remember asking for?Do I have to register this?

I dud this I pressed a button by mistake. No you don't have to use it. You can freeze it. I didn't realise but all my money went onto the card and not into my account. However I managed to get it all transferred into my account. It was easy to do but it was a shock when I went to check my bank statement and the money wasn't there

Hi mate, can you accept payments without using your phone? The battery on my phone is shocking and im worried it'll die on me. Say I needed to accept a payment of £10 could I type it on the keypad and let them use contactless?

Sadly not, the reader is just a reader but all the setting up is done in the app. The other option is to buy the 3g option that runs on it's own steam

How do I get to the dashboard to enter payment? I have done this by testing with a £1.00 to myself but when I go to Checkout to do this I'm getting the screen to add items to online shop.

Hi Mark, thanks for the support. Apparently you have to register for this service. Email the Virtual Terminal support team, from the email address that your account is registered to for your account. Then you have to be considered for it. There appears to be at least a 25p charge for every time you use the virtual terminal. I Hope this helps, Mick

It should go into your Sum Up account. Press home, account and transfer it to your registered bank account from there.

@@bonysminiatures3123 if you click home then business account you should be able to view your balance? Underneath that it should say “send money” You click on that, enter your account details and transfer. I can’t make a video on it as it would show all my personal details.
