This was actually the best explanation of these type of strikes I have found on the tube. I am curious about straight strikes (punches) using this system. Thank you for this video.

Having watched a lot of striking sessions, it seems the more educated partners are better able to take the punch AND show less emotional strain about it, they are trained to diffuse it & recover faster. Read somewhere the technique is to push your breath downwards so that when the punch hits you release the air in a short breath and also move hips, torso to untense the body, to relieve it of pain faster Tensing up, resisting on contact is a way to get more hurt. Relaxing the body does the trick.

the same principles are in involved with a proper wing chun straight, vertical fist punch aka the one inch punch.

How so?

@@zoltancsikos5604 You stay relaxed to penetrate into the target. But the Wing Chun punch also utilizes bone structure in a unique way where you're not just using whipping power, but you're rooted to the ground while sinking your weight, so you're hitting with whipping power, arm strength, and body weight. Force multiplies force.

@KaizenTao err... respectfully, no. i know how hard these strikes are, so for the guy (you, perhaps?) to just eat so many of them without folding up is rather impressive.

Thanks thoyo. By tensing up, stilling your breath, or being afraid, you give the strikes a pathway into your body. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
