We think it’s the lack of top end that really held us back. At the rev limiter we’d be under 400hp.

my a4 b5 goes 1/4 mile 11.4 with 1.8sec 60ft 4.3 0-60 mph , 60-130 7 sec, it is only 450 bhp, full interior only 16psi of boost

It's 3" catless downpipes into a 4" y-pipe. From there back it's 4" single all the way with a single Burns Stainless Ultra Quiet 2-Stage Muffler. That Burns is the key here; it's specifically tuned to eliminate high frequencies (rasp).

I wonder if putting bigger turbos like the rs7 +4mm from SRM would move the power curve up and take away that torque that putting lots of stress on the clutch/axles/drivetrain. Also the car will be cool with the b9 3.0T and a full frame xona ;)

For sure that would help, but for us getting to the power soon as possible has been critical for autocross success. Our new engine won't be quite as torque-spikey so we'll see how things pan out.

Something does not add up. 877 torque but only 122mph? I don't understand.

The torque falls off like crazy at higher rpms if you look at the dyno closely. In a 1/4 mile we wouldn’t ever even see the peak torque because we’re always way out of its range.

@@mikehood8754 to add to that. It's about hp area under the curve in the area where you're operating when doing a 1/4 mile. If power falls off above 5k rpm and you live in the 5k-7600 range during a 1/4 mile pull you're shooting yourself in the foot not shortshifting, which is exactly what I did on my couple 1/4 mile attempts...

The last track day we did was back in 2018 with the previous engine. The car is too focused on trying to win the national autocross championship to risk it out on the track at this point. Maybe some day in the future...

If we had dynoed it before attempting the 1/4 mile runs I would have short shifted much earlier to stay in the powerband. I also had terrible 60' because I was on cold autocross street tires in 40° weather on a road. In it's current state I'm sure it's in the 10's easily just fixing any of these issues. Regardless, won't matter anymore. Getting a better engine going to make huge power. I'll be shooting to be in the 9's for sure on the new build.
