How long have you been driving for? My first bike was/is a the White Panagali V2 but I have a lot of road experience/awareness and was giving myself the time to work my way into it before opening up. When I did though.... wow. 2 things I learned: 1. There are 2 bikes in it. You think you're going hard when you short shift. Then you find out how much torque is in the upper rev range. Make sure you're hanging on with your knees though.... 2. The electronics package is amazing and the settings you have will allow you to build up to its potential (mine is MY21). It WILL look after you, and mine saved my arse from stupid mistakes a couple of times. The bike shop I bought mine from thought I was an experienced rider and set mine to race mode though... so as a new rider I kinda shit myself a few times.

Quickshifters help you shift up without the use of a clutch, usually an upgrade mainly used on the track but a lot of higher end motorcycles come with them stock. I believe the Ducati V4R comes with an auto blipper which means you can shift up and down without using the clutch for ease when racing
