You may already have a video on that electric bike or I should say it looks like an electric dirt bike. I've been thinking about a gasoline 4-stroke engine dirt bike like the motoped would be perfect. but they don't make them anymore so I'll probably just have to settle for an electric bicycle pedal bike or dirt bike but I have to have bicycle pedals on it. Luckily in my state you don't have to have license, taxes, tags, insurance, no nothing for now but things may change because the e bike and e dirt bike owners might destroy it with the speed their doing out there.

@d00der41 Жыл бұрын
Only nice thing about them is their patent pending internal jackshaft frame and the engine itself - excluding the clutch. Everything else they put on it is junk. For the price, a Fox or Rock Shox fork and a EZ M clutch and hydraulic brakes would make this bike a pretty bang up product if it were the fat tire version. Plan on building one myself with a Zeda Dawn frame, a jackshaft bracket, 4 inch rear, 3 in front tire, 750w electric motor running through the jackshaft to make up for the lower end power the engine lacks, and hydraulic brakes. Same motor, gear the motors to top out at like 45mph close to sync with one another.

what about throwing an electric hub on the front to make it a hybrid?
@PhysiqueGeek3 жыл бұрын
That would be pretty cool for sure, especially to stay quiet when he's riding back home at like midnight lol. The only thing with front hub motors is torque steer. The few I've tried out always wanted to pull the wheel to the side when you hit the throttle which made them feel a little unpredictable. He's not very experienced with riding so I don't want to do something that might get him hurt. That and having to strap a bunch of extra stuff to the frame that wouldn't look very nice
@tomtee44423 жыл бұрын
One guy did that on a red fat Moto small tire he put a 212 engine on it and a electric motor hub just on the front. He's the one that has I think the machined gears on the right side through the jackshaft. A lot of guys have done the 212 conversion but I'm just not sure if they can pedal the bike with the engine off without rubbing their legs. One guy on U tube make a very wide pedal crank for his 212 install.

If anyone is interested in selling their used fat moto bike or parts I need some 26" x 2.325" skinny Wheels and tires leave me a message thanks. I bought my fat moto bike when it was $550 in 2019 with rear V brakes when they first come out. And at that price it wasn't too bad versus buying a beach cruiser with a four-stroke and putting it together. I should have bought another phat moto at that price. They were first at $500 but I waited a little too long because I thought they might go down in price but I was wrong they just went up and up. And by the look of things they're not going to stop especially with covid and another financial collapse coming then everything is going up. Prices are already creeping up now.
@miguel360kmc3 жыл бұрын
$1,200 is actually not bad for the phatmotos. Not if you do the math . The frame is the best frame on the market you can buy the angel fire ll for like $100 or gt skyhawk for $120 just the naked frames but only frame thats near as good is the phantom frame which is $500 for a naked frame. (the naked frame of a phatmoto is worth $5-$600 👌) You just need a few upgrades like a set of triple trees cheap ones cdh power or zoom work ok fox 40s would be best, good maxxis tires Continental tubes TRP Hy/RD hybrid brakes i like the Wide cruiser seats with a post shock. Upgrade all bearings and chains that alone is *NIGHT AND DAY* max torque clutch or the new Hilliard is said to be good (harden hub) remove governor mod air box (drill holes) top is around 35-40 range. Could do a motor swap using the mega moto bb80 motor plate from go power sports you need to drill 4 holes to mount it in but thats it you can fit a p79 gx100 gx120 gx160 gx160r and maybe the p212 with some small mods.. 😉
@PhysiqueGeek3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mean it's definitely not the worst deal out there, and at the price it is now (around 800) it's not a bad deal at all. When my neighbor bought this one over a year ago it came out to almost $1400. That's not a great deal considering most of the components are the same cheap generic chinese parts that you'd find on a $150 Walmart bike. Not saying it's not a fun bike, especially for someone that doesn't want the hassle of sourcing parts and building it themselves. After having a pretty high end minarelli two stroke and completely custom predator 212cc bikes it's harder for me to get excited about 79cc's I guess lol. I know I've seen a few guys that put 212's on theirs. Much better choice for just pure fun. Believe me if it were MY bike it would be a very, very different machine lol. The genuine felt frames are nice for sure, but I'd rather spend less and get a frame that's ready to go out of the box. These fakers with gussets welded are 100% better than the real felt frames. The felts still need to be drilled for a shutoff valve and sealed since it's a faux gas tank to. I don't recommend anyone run those cheap cdh suspension triple trees, the rigid ones aren't terrible though. I had them on my first faker build a couple years back and they were sketchy. So much twist, and no real suspension. I've seen a lot of them snap off at the crown when people are riding too. Not pretty.

You definitely made the right call throwing the predator on yours. I tried talking the owner (his names Miguel too lol) into doing it but he doesn't have much of an interest in doing that sort of thing. I took a header with mine at 30+mph right into a very big rock running cdh power forks, they bent back a good 60° i went flying about 20 some odd feet flipped back of my knees ended up hitting the top of a 6ft fence 😅 landing on my neck and shoulder luckily only broke or ripped all my ligaments connecting my collarbone to my shoulder put me out of work 8mths so far another 5 or so to go. But the frame held up GREAT 👍 the stock rims GREAT was shocked the front rim was still 90% true did have to adjust a few spokes a tiny bit. 😳 Love the phatmoto rover 2020 very good frame and rims.. yes out the box 📦 they are not nothing special but with small upgrades frontend is a must 👌 cheap rockshocks are only a $130 + max torque clutch another $40 upgrade the 3 chains about $70 jackshaft bearings $15 rim bearings $20 TRP hy/rd all in one hydraulic brakes are $120 for a set but could get away with 1. Dont need to remove the governor just do a spring adjustment remove the speed screw. So like $400 turns the bike into something way way better... Me i went all out did all the above but also changed out disc rotor on the front to a 180mm swap out ALL hardware some good rockbros pedals and rear rack with a matching bag also grips. New brake levers neck/headset i like the stock bar. All new cables forget the brand but they top of the line for downhill MTB riding. Front and rear light kit 👌usb rechargeable. Mini horn and GPS alarm ⏰ pedal side fixie chain tensioner would like to swap pedal chain out to a 35 chain would look cooler (tuffer) the overall look i went for was a downhill MTB type bike. Powered bye a fully built p79cc i want the Honda gx120 with e-start it can fit with the mount i talked about before.. spent a year building this bike now its a 8hp town eater!! Stock with the 50t sprocket i got a LOT of hills still tops at 40mph rides at 35mph easy 👌😎 its a commuter bike IMO the best commuter bike you can get. Take your time upgrade the cheap chaina parts they hold up good enough till you can swap them out. My stock motor i put over 8,000 miles on mine.

@@miguel360kmc haha very nice, sounds like you're just like me. Not sure if you've seen the videos of the other bikes I've built but I'm never content with just good enough. I'm far from rich but I always try to buy, or fabricate, the best stuff I can afford at the time. Removing the governor was the first thing I did with that bike, before it ever even ran lol. Same thing with the front rotor, but I went straight to 203mm for him, and swapped out the stock max torque clutch for a Hilliard extreme duty since I've had good luck with them in the past. You're right, I forgot about the rims too, like I said in the video they are definitely solid rims. 12g spokes are a must for something like this, especially if you take it off road at all. Let me think, if the Phatmoto were mine, it'd have some Maxxis hookworms or maybe some Holy Rollers for the trails, Magura's 4-piston MT5's front and rear with their MDR-P rotors ( I run them on my electric enduro bike too), probably some DNM USD-8 triple trees for that sweet dual front brake goodness, and at least a preddy 79cc, more likely a 212 though haha. With the rover frames being nice and gusseted up already it's just begging for a built 17-20hp+, 80mph predator lol. I've been thinking about building another gas bike this summer. Might hit up Phatmoto and buy just the frame from them. I emailed them a little while back asking if buying a "replacement" frame was possible and they said yes, so that's cool to know since it's the only part I really want off it anyway. Not sure for how much though, they didn't mention that part. I build my own wheels and all that, I just need a solid frame to build on
