@@baylithe pop punk isn't emo. Especially the late 2000s scenes like, as I said, Paramore and fallout boy... and avril. Pop punk partially co-opted emos, because emos were popular online and the late 2000s is when marketing through social media started. So pop punk and post punk bands who don't have emo lyrics or sound got popular by dressing emo. And then they became so big that other bands became insignificant. Plus rap music using social media to get big in the late 2000s. Real rock music had nowhere to go. It's not hard.
