As a kid I read about Hugh Mills and I can’t believe I came across this vid. That gentleman is my personal hero! I remember a pic of him on a stokes liter behind hoisted to a rescue helo. He was grinning with a rifle across his chest!!! Thank God that great man was on our side. THNAK YOU, SIR!!

Very proud to have served under Hugh Mills! He was my C.O. In 2/1 Cav, Ft. Hood Texas 1975/76. Thank you Sir! I also worked with and was friends with fellow Outcasts Joe Crockett, one of LTC Mills crew chiefs. RIP Joe!

I'm going to have to put this on my reading list. I've seen and heard about guys like him, although I don't think I've met any. They do tend to be a quieter bunch. I suspect this will be one of those 3 a.m. books, though. :D Thanks for bringing LTC Mills on, it was great to listen to him.

Excellent episode and interview, Dan and Christy. I love listening to stories from our veterans. Dan, I think Christy needs a discovery flight in a heli. Maybe after the jump. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friends 🇺🇸🛩️

Did Hugh write about his later tours in Vietnam? I've read Low Level Hell two or three times & would like to hear more of his experiences. ETA Oh & if you've NOT read Hugh's book, go out & buy a copy, as it's excellent.

Fantastic story, but probably difficult for a layman to understand with all the technical terms, acronyms & aircraft nicknames. Even with my knowledge of the Vietnam war, it was difficult to follow.

Vietnam is friend of USA lately. USA textile factories allowed last 15 years. and more. And they stopped invading the neighbors too. So mission acomplished. USA won Vietnam lately..
