It looks like a game boy game. Attention to animations in pixel art pleases. The locations are more extensive, the feeling of tightness when moving to the location. Pixel art pleases. The authors definitely want to convey the feeling of a game boy, even a screenshot on steam in a framed view of a portable console. With such ideas and work in pixel art, it was possible to choose a larger scale. I mean: visual and scale, for example, as in "chained ehoes". In any case, it looks interesting what I see.

This looks great, but is it a turb based RPG or an action RPG? Or both perhaps?

It is action RPG, not turned base. But the goal is to have the feeling of a turned base jrpg group in an action rpg, kind of like Secret of Mana
