Thank you for your deep dive of double tours and for giving it a touch of personal experience. Here's to hoping to see Takumi in some virtuoso role next summer!

My favorites were Leonid Sarafanov and Steven McRae - I was lucky enough to see them both dance Etudes onstage, who were brilliant - but now Takumi Miyake is definitely my favourite! Wish I could have been there to see this onstage. As a fellow Japanese I am very proud of him. Thank you very much for your detailed explanation.

@@荻原澄恵-z9i I regret not seeing him in Etudes this past fall. I won't make that mistake again. Look forward to seeing him in the Summer Met season.

I see Takumi as second coming of Kumakawa out of Japan. There are actually number of superb young Japanese male dancers right now in the world stage. Ikarashi of ROB, Takuma of also American ballet sutdio to name a few. It has taken Japan 60 or so years to start producing great ballet dancers both m everales and females. I know what I'm talking about since I've been watching world's best ballet either individuals or companies ever since tv's become available back in Japan. I'm 77 now so I've seen very many remarkable performers.

Bocca and Corella both reputedly did the nine tours in Etudes successfully as well as Sarafanov and now Miyake, per (the ballet blog) Haglund’s Heel.

His technical skill is remarkable. But can we give a shout out to his beautifully pointed feet?

STUNNING 👏👏👏👏👏👏 A question a bit off topic, I know, but I don't know how to address you otherwise: Could/would you please do a video on recently deceased russian dancer Vladimir Shklyarov? I've never seen him onstage and would like to know more about him - especially with the evaluation of a fellow dancer. Thank you!

Impressive indeed!!! You said it all. I really like all the male dancers together in white in whatever that one was. It would be neat if he were in his own cultural traitional winged shirt doing those spins. Maybe he will make he will choreograph his own one day. Even pushing 50 the dancer in me wants to get up and try it...😂

There is another example of nine consecutive double tours performed by the young Bolshoi's principal Dmitry Smilevsky. His jumps maybe are not as perfect as Miyake's but still quite impressive. The clip starts with Dmitry being already in the air so it's possible he could've executed more than nine. kzbin.infofImxlJd7xt0
