Dude,, you say the truth. I agree with you 100%. I feel like he is her true soulmate since he upgraded her thinking and they knew what each other was thinking and trusted each other. With the other two guys there were moments of doubt but not with Tal Tal. The Emperor was the love of her life, and maybe the same can be said for Wang Yu, another love of her life.

I've rewatched Empress Ki and realized that Taltal highly respects the empress, even before he had always praised her for her talents, a highly capable woman. As time passed, I think he developed more than just admiration for her, he cares and love her in his own way. He is one of my favorite characters in all the historical dramas I've seen. He is consistent, he truly cares for their country and serves the good of the people.

I'm glad that i'm not the only one who could see how much Tal Tal really loved Seung Nyang. Tal Tal is perfect, inteligent and a really strong man.Ji Yin-Hwan (Tal Tal) said in a interview that origianly Tal Tal would be one of Seung Nyang lovers but the writters decide to give up of the idea because the drama has already to much love lines. Because of that Tal Tal reminds has Seung Nyang's master but we all can see on his eyes that Tal Tal really loved Seung Nyang to the end.

Tangqashi's "love" for her is warped and sick so we can discount her. Goodness ,what a pity! 4 men are obsessed with her yet they all died in the end,leaving her alone. I heard that the actor for Tal Tal (Jin Yi Han) said in some interview that Tal Tal is originally and supposed to be one of Seung Nyang's lovers. However, due to the already excessive love lines in the drama, the writers decided to delete Tal Tal and Seung Nyang's love line. Therefore, he only expresses his love silently and with his eyes. The viewers see it as an affection that a teacher has for his student, but he really does actually love her more than that.

That's probably why he didn't confess as it wouldn't benefit her or the country, out of the 3 main lovers he was the only one who never hurt her.

It shows how he loved her and much of caring for her though his eyes. But he knows that it is impossible because standing by her sides was Wang Yoo and Ta-Hwan. In the end, the scene where Yang Yi remembered back the last conversation of her with Tal Tal. He protected her until the end of his life.

I’m so mad that the writers chose to “kill” his character....him ending up with Nyang was the obvious ending after the death of the Emperor imo. Apparently the love line between Tal Tal & Nyang was written out, So my hunch that there was something more there between them was right....He did a good job portraying his feelings for her in the parameters he was given, but as much as I rooted for Nyang & the Emperor, I would have LOVED to see them have their moments.

I saw a comment somewhere that it'd be great if Taltal actually survived the battle, but faked his death so that Empress Ki will flee to the northern plains, then meet her there in the future, and maybe that ending could've extended the drama by 2-3 eps :') But the death of all 3 men who were close to her is meaningful in a way because after all the vengeance, all the power struggles, she is cursed to not be in peace Way too many people died that led her to become the woman she is, and some may take revenge as spirits/ghosts (most likely Tanashiri, Empress Dowager, Tangqishi for this theory) I'm also impressed at how far the Emperor has changed after Nyang's appearance, I'm glad she made him strong, but I couldn't bring myself to ship them as much as I shipped her and Taltal or Wang Yu

I loved this drama and the entire cast. Aside Emperor Ta Hwan who stole most of our hearts, it was Tal Tal that caught my attention. Tal Tal for his quiet charm and courage was a great character, a man of few words but abound with wisdom that stood out and how Seung Nyang would confide in him showed that he was someone trustworthy and reliable. Though they weren't a couple in the drama, one can't help but notice the air of compatibility between them. Hope to see them as a couple materialize in future dramas.

At first I was like ugh tal tal is fit but he's probably evil and they can't be together etc etc but then towards the last episodes I just fell in loooove. I mean, he killed bayan to protect her (that's half the reason) but he never admitted his feelings and that makes me so sad. I was shipping Nyang with everyone.. Even Tangqishi, I mean that guy was eeevill. Ji won unnie does this to me in every drama, in king2hearts, what happened in Bali, secret garden etc. She just steals my heart an amazing actress indeed. For ten years, I have been watching Korean drama. This is the best. I will not forget this , NEVER . A drama that makes you love all the characters, suffers and rejoices with them, and grieves at the difficulties that occur, causing you to interact interactively in all its seconds. 51 episodes are never many for the story. She is madly interesting.

I feel that their relationship had three layers: 1, Mentor/Student - He upgraded her beyond just being a consort and he groomed her to be an Empress by giving her upgrades other women didn't get, how to rule people. 2. Soulmate - Because of the upgrades, they had the same mindset, they could calculate what the other would be doing and trusted each other completely. 3, Like other people said, he grew to love her but couldn't show it because it wasn't appropriate. They would have made a great team even in a marriage, but I don't think she ever felt that kind of attraction to him. He would always remain her Shifu and soulmate.

They should have Taltal's lovestory with Nyang after the emperor died. It would have been better. The story would have ended perfectly..for me. The writers cut it short at the end, missing to connect with its viewers thoughts of how Taltal loved Nyang. He should have given the chance to say to it to her even if Nyang would not feel the same way. I would love for Taltal and Nyang to work again.

Yes, TalTal had something going on for Ki but I would have died of sadness if she didn't love the emperor back. It was my first drama of Ji Chang Wook, Ha Ji Won and Jin Yi Han (Tal Tal) and I loved the three of them... The Emperor loved his 'Nyang Nyang' so much, i loved her with him. I am glad that they made Tal tal's love very subtle. Sometimes, some love stories like that are perfect because they don't get to happen.

It's not really true, It's very subtle, Just watch and you see seconds of him looking every-time. Apparently in real live TalTal was an important factor for the Yuan dynasty and he became Regent, but was killed later in his live. (I am only at ep43, so have no idea how they're going to portray the story). But originally, what I've read, they had a script where he was in love with her, but the cut it out..

SPOLER ALERT:: those who don't want their Ki-watch experience ruined should avoid reading this until they've watched the show. Firstly, it's amazing that SOOOOO many people were thinking and feeling along the same lines about Taltal - Nyang as I was. YUP. IMO, Taltal-Nangi was definite a solid presence in the show. Though honestly I didn't pick up on the Taltal heartbeats until the Master-Student section of the show. Taltal's "admiration" and "flutters' for Nyang is strongly in the foreground by the time the Concubine section begins.. For him the "feelz" (the word fangirlverdict blog uses so aptly) don't happen instantly .. but grows underneath the main plot lines unobserved during the first segment of the show. A rewatch with special focus on his story thread and screen appearance brings the development arc of Taltal character into clearer view. His Admiration of Ki : he was THE one person who saw and correctly inferred that Ki's sharp, clearheaded, strategic actions were always guided by the goal of "greater good" of "setting the wrongs right " of "justice" - goals he himself believed in - if not instantly but always after the fact .. Sometimes he'd connect the dots of her actions even as she was planning it. becomingperson of influence. In a leadership position she worked with a strong moral compass. (IMO .. his final act of betrayal of his uncle reached an organic culmination that because of his character movement). His "Flutters"? Well it's clearly visible in the way the scenes with them were shot ;-P Very very careful strokes by the director and camera work. The way the actor could play it out so so subtly (worthy of best supporting actor award - along with Tanashiri) His expressions while watching her when she was unaware .. undercurrent of feeling for Ki was like deep water currents not visible. Hats off to the stellar direction of the E.K. team and Ji Yin Hwan's acting chops that this unspoken Tai-Nyang pairing stirred the audience. An overt writing of them as a "pairing" into the script (with explicit dialogue delivery in the script) would have taken away from the rich layering of the different kinds of love that were flowing towards Ki and how she to received - reacted to them. Quick Point: notice how his costume changes from innocent (vulnerable almost) in that first episode where the Exile retinue is crossing through Goriyo lands with Te Hwan in his mobile tent .. to the final episodes when he's in full gear .. His hairstyle :-D Many have wished here .. someone should write a script with him as a lead :-)

I totally agree, Tal Tal meant A LOT to empress Ki, he was pivotal to her success and the truth is that each of the men that loved her sacrificed themselves for her, to help her accomplish greatness, all of them supported her to the very end, each one gave her what they could. Tal Tal was my favorite above all of the others, his silent sacrifice was the purest and most selfless. Peace✌🏽☮️🌈🌳🌎 !
