What so impresses me about Tal is that I never hear any cliches, I hear surprises. She's definitely Jeff Beck's musical daughter while fully capable of charting her own fascinating and entirely unique path. This is a REMARKABLE recording.

Heavy Mental I was really talking about voice in the broader sense, as a bassist, writer, singer, guest artist, the whole package. I think her voice fits her music perfectly, while I agree it wouldn’t be the voice I chose for pop music or something else.

baldinwally I’ve worked with other artists in the studio. Tal really adds to any ensemble with her bass playing. Let’s be real: her vocals are ordinary, limited in range, lyrics very predictable. She’s trying to craft something here, but fails.

Why did she move on from you? (If that even is true). Her vocals are certainly above average (not terrible like you said). No she isn't an amazing vocalist, but when you have a musical groove so good going on, you don't need the vocalist to carry the song. That's just a little education for you from me,....also a nobody

Judging from your weak, flaccid attempts to diminish me rather than address the fact that although Tal really brings something with her approach to the bass guitar, her vocals are off key, limited in range, and her lyrics predictable and boring, I’d say you probably need to consider what constitutes a great vocalist. Tal ain’t one.

I was onboard the Tal train when I saw the A day in the life vid with Jeff Beck. Fell in love with her playing, confidence, ofcourse hair. Playing with all the greats Herbie, Chic, Prince, Clapton...20 years old when she was doing the majority of that and now she's 32 and has matured musically and vocally. Awsome.
