Prayathnam proudly presents the second episode of Tala Dasa Prana-s by Dr. Sasirekha Raammohan.
How clearly this episode has managed to encapsulate so much information into a form that is simple and easy to absorb and retain, is a question that will definitely come to the mind of each sahrdaya as they go through this!
This episode deals with the Graha, Kalaa, Laya, Yati and Prastaara with information on their classifications - some aided with pictorial references and others with lucid examples.
Some extremely interesting facts like adavu-s being practiced in progressive speeds during olden days, the usage of the nishabda kriya-s for certain kalaa-s and the innumerable permutations and combinations conforming to the musicality of the piece that are possible within an avaratanam are certain highlights of this episode.
The ten elements of the tala system explained with written notes, pictorial references, and practical demonstration is a treasure for anyone associated with the classical arts!
Several quizzes and interactive sessions are soon to be a part of this new educational venture - so stay tuned and watch out for the weekly releases every Thursday.
