The first location in my Sri Lanka Travel Guide is Talaimannar Pier Mannar Island, Sri Lanka. The Ram Setu bridge that has historical importance in Hindu mythology thanks to the epic Ramayana begins at Dhanushkodi in India and ends at Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. Although there's Indian Ocean between these two points, the straight line distance from Mannar Island to Dhanushkodi is only 36 kms.

Thank you :) It was a part of the overall package. But you can travel to Talaimannar by Sri Lankan railway. Cheap option but they are usually crowded.
