Hello friends, this video shows you the "Ninans Restaurant", while entering Ninan’s Restaurant is like stepping into another world. It is a space with 20-foot-high ceilings, that transport you back to the British Raj. The building that houses the restaurant, YMCA, Esplanade, is 120 years old and the restaurant has been operating here since the 1930s. It was first an Iranian restaurant and then became the iconic Ninan’s in 1956. It is now 1.30 pm and the restaurant is filling up fast; mostly executives from nearby offices and lawyers from the neighbouring High Court. Turbaned waiters, dressed in white with blue cummerbunds, scurry back and forth, carrying plates of steaming hot fish curry and rice, mutton biryani and Ninan’s signature dish - caramel custard.
We ordered Mutton biriyani, Vanjiram fish fry, Mutton sukka, Chicken Keithal and Caramel custard. All the dishes were very neat and tasty. Comparatively tge price were little hogh, but if you want to experience your food in an old 1950s ambience then this would be the right choice for you. Hope you enjoyed the video.
