You are awesome! I love all your videos and recommend them to all my colleagues. I listen to your videos over and over to solidify the information. Being a visual learner I am so grateful for these videos:)

That's so great Carolyn! I'm almost jealous of being able to learn like that- I'm so use to reading that I find it hard for new information to 'stick' unless I'm reading and highlighting! So glad these are helping you :)

So informative, thank you! I’m new to NICU nursing, so these videos really help break down essential pieces of neonatal care. Very helpful! Would love to see a video on types of respiratory support, why one is used over another, and interpreting ventilator and hfov settings :)
@TalaTalksNICU2 жыл бұрын
Hello Rachel! Congratulations on being in the NICU- we all love it here! We've made a few videos on respiratory support (ventilators/ gases/ HFOV). We are planning more on different modes, but maybe you could start by looking at those ones? Let us know if there's anything you are specifically looking for?

Excellent! We'll try to get a video of an experienced nurse changing the lines (if Arianna refuses! She is the best at it!)

Would absolutely love to see how to change tpn & smof lines on central lines, specifically uvc lines.. Unfortunately this is done at my facility on days and I work nights, so it’s not something I’m exposed to very often.

yes! Will try to get Arianna on it- she's brilliant at line changes! Thank you :)

Hello Dr Tala, I have seen some orders for TPN free of electrolytes, especially when we start it for the first time( I had a 32 weeker the other night and that was the order) Could you kindly explain the rationale behind that? NICU nurse from Canada ❤
@TalaTalksNICU2 күн бұрын
Hello! The first day we know babies will lose weight- and so they don't really need sodium the first couple of days (as the babies lose free water their own blood level of sodium will go up). Then we don't know if babies will urinate sufficiently so we don't like adding potassium that first day. With no cations- we can't get anions in. So usually that first day we put some calcium in and the other stuff (MVI etc) only.

Thank you so much, this is very informative and useful information. Please could do a video on different types of venous access, central line, longline, brovaic line and where this lines are inserted into. Also interpretation of blood gases. Thank you so much

Hello Gabby! These are all such great suggestions. We haven't directly filmed these videos but we did one on PICC lines and a few on gases. A video on types of lines is a GREAT idea though. Thank you so much.
