Thought it was time we went back and did a Blackpool Talbot Gateway Tram Terminus and Holiday Inn Update - Sept 21 and what a difference a couple of months has made! In mid July we reported on progress with the catenary infrastructure, which had just begun to be installed. The majority of that is now finished. Incredibly, it was the end of May when we did our last update video from the site. My what a lot has changed! The tram lines are almost reaching their destination adjacent to the new hotel and improved underpass. The steelwork for the hotel is flying up - you can clearly see the shape of the building.
Take a walk around the Talbot Gateway phase 2 development with us. We'll walk around the perimeter of the site, taking a look from different angles - including a great view thanks to a nice gateman!

Thanks Jane, I can't believe the progress! Wow, 2022, summer for it's completion! It will be so handy for us.... for travelling to Cleveleys. Instead, of mauling suitcases down Talbot road to catch a tram to Cleveleys, or to Fleetwood, we can have the luxury of hopping on the tram from the train station.....looking forward to it! I dislike taxi rides....they make me feel, so nauseous. I couldn't do a taxi journey from the train station to Cleveleys. Hopefully, it will help more people to consider staying in one of the hotels, or apartments, in the north of Blackpool. I was also, thinking that it will help to expand business opportunities for the rest of the Fylde coast. I've noticed that Cleveleys needs more hotels and apartments. We had to book in May for The Garlands, Cleveleys... for an August stay, and we only managed to book up then, based on a cancellation. Glad, that they are opening another opportunity up, for people to expand on their travels... especially, helpful for disabled people, with mobility scooters. Regards, to all at the rabbit patch. x.

Interesting to see the progress, I and my girlfriend visited Blackpool last Fall and saw the buildings sites. We have only been once because we live so far away, we very much enjoyed riding the tram.

You were here more recently Jane, you were wondering what the metal strips piled up were for, whether for tram rails or flooring for the hotel, the latter being the case. I have received intelligence from County Hall that they are waiting until the hotel is built before transferring the orange edge barrier you pointed out to Cleveleys to replace the present orange sticking plaster on the damaged railings adjacent to the clock shelter. Could you want for more? Remember the effect of cobbles when the camera is on Chrissie's wheelchair? Well multiply by two for the effect of surfaces on the electric scooter bike :) The car parking area on the plans I have seen show car parking right up to the hotel on each side of the 'platform' areas. The hotel will shoot up now that the tower crane is in place. I feel that if you showed how well they are doing with a video from the crane control cabin they may put a Visit Fylde Coast banner right down the side of the gantry. The Huey helicopter could drop you down to the platform. Or Kevin could follow you up the yellow ladder with the camera? _Just a thought_ . . . I hope you gave the gateman a VFC business card; maybe a bunny-inna-bag as seen on BATs next time. 🎬👍🔨👍🔨💥

I like Blackpool North station. I have fond memories of arriving there on the train (before I could drive) but you can’t get a direct train from Burnley any more. You have to change now, so sad, the journey time is longer as well.
