That choice of music, love that Arche song sung by Mika Kanai. So bubbly, so cute, so pink! :D Agreed with you there, Kev. Not sure why they gave her so many instant death spells in SFC (likely different success rates). Black Hole the way it was back then (25% or less = instant death) pretty much became Dark Circle in Star Ocean 2 and 3, and the version we know today is so much better now. Arche may have lost the Wall spells, but at least Fire and Ice came back briefly in Legendia (and haven't been seen since). Which is a shame, since they were good for instantly stopping approaching targets. Stone Wall has a kind of lasting legacy in Leon at least. Just as Cress became the prototype swordsman, Arche became the prototype mage. New spells keep getting added while others get upgraded or changed entirely (Negative Gate has more amazing stunlock abuse than ever, but the creepy hands in Xillia are kind of off-putting). It's nice to see where it all started.

Death Cloud and Distortion feel redundant to be honest. They do have different success rates but it's not *that* noticeable and honestly you're better off dealing damage. As a side note, all of these spells returned in some non-instant-death form (even Death Cloud making an obscure revival in Dawn of the New World as a monster-only attack). Actually, the three Wall spells returned more recently in ToD DC as unique short-ranged spells, combining aspects of Annie's circles. Alongside Thunder Blade in that game and Whirlwind, they are part of fast-casting spells that only activate around the caster, with the purpose of pushing the enemy away and quickly starting a combo. This concept would later evolve into Spike Stone and Spark Web in ToH (though they aren't cast nearly as fast, kind of trivializing it's utility unless you are crafty) and then fully fleshed out as Pascal's fighting style. Arche has a loooot of legacy extending to the Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile series, even. Though Inomata Tales tried to steer away from her spells in favor of their similar-looking-but-not-quite-the-same spells (like Religious/Seraphic Bolt being a Inomata version of Lightning).

Yup, I remember. I replayed New World enough times to memorize every monster's moves. XD Sadly I can't comment on Destiny DC. I'm not a console modder nor have I played the game in any shape or form. I suppose, but a lightning bolt is still a lightning bolt. It's hard to make it look that unique. XD

Flegan777 Hahaha. unless they making lightning bolt as arrows shot from lightning bow. I think that will be different from VP's Lightning Bolts. I do have a wild imagination of Genis casting Indignation on Ethereal Queen. And I don't know why it must be Genis...

Yeah, Arche has to be one of the most sympathetic characters I've ever seen in a game, if she existed, I would really like to be her friend

Even though the spells take awhile for the animation in Phantasia (they aren't ongoing with melee in real time), I always gladly wait for it since Big Bang and Indignation are spammable.

Arche has the Extension spell on GBA ToP but it was changed to be her strongest damage spell instead of an instant kill one.

Imagine her with Marisa Kirisame. They’d get along perfectly! A certain character with pink hair (does not wear a hat but the other one does) and a character with blonde hair do share a lot in common after all. Both have crazy powerful magic and ride broomsticks. On another note, I wanna see Sanae with Philia from TOD either being together or fighting each other!
