This isn't the real Dawn of the New World opening, it's the alternate orchestral variant used as a secondary option in the Symphonia Chronicles PS3 port. The lyrics are the same in the original, but it's a guitar heavy j-rock song instead.

It's not a sequel, despite some inaccurate protestations. It's considered a spin-off and the story isn't official canon. It's also a very bad game so it's better this way.

@@DeltathRiylaan I don't think it's a bad game. I may be biased since it's been my introduction to the tales series as a whole but I think it has a better story that some relatively recent main games. U do u tho, anyway. Stay healthy and have a nice week.

@@regenbogen_sim The issue is less the story and more the content of the game, though the story and characters aren't great, the main character in particular. It was also an unneeded continuation of Symphonia that didn't better the original storyline at all or give any satisfying addition. It would have been better without the tether to Symphonia entirely. In terms of the gameplay and content, I'll throw a few objective facts about why it's like rather than just my opinion of things that are bad. The first is the game was largely developed as a side project internally at Tales Studio by members of support staff rather than the core design teams of all of the other main Tales games. It had a shoestring budget and a brief developement window. They were already stretched thin trying to finish the game on a low budget and ended up cancelling development with only 65% of the game finished. Because of this, they didn't balance a lot of elements, fix most of the bugs, they didn't make all the characters they intended or make the Symphonia cast full party members, they cut various systems and cut the entire world map and replaced it with a location menu. They also didn't polish up the graphics or finished the battle system, which is why it looks mostly like a GameCube game and the battle system is floatier than any of the other Team Symphonia games. Because of this and more, the team was so disappointed in their efforts that they didn't want to make it an official sequel or a mainline title, so they demoted it to a spinoff escort title. That doesn't mean there isn't any fun to be had or it isn't worth playing, particularly if you're a Tales fan. I've played all of the escort titles even though a lot of them are not very good, particularly Tales of the Tempest. I just like the franchise and honestly, I wish they still made escort titles. Now they have years between main entries and anything else they do is a mobile title and Dawn of the New World is 100x better than a mobile game.
