This game holds such a large piece of my heart. I did not have a good childhood, with an extremely abusive father, my brother was all that I had growing up and to this day, its not often we are apart, he showed me this game when I was a child, when my dad would start fights with my mom and my brother wasn't around I would start up the GameCube and play Tales Of Symphonia and it just made everything better for the time being. I've beaten the game more times than I can count and plan on playing it many more times. This video is dope as tits thanks for sharing all this cool stuff!

did you know that there are unused tracks in the GC version of this game? One is an alternate Zelos theme that.. sounds sorta heroic, and another theme sounds like a scrapped (early?) boss theme for the game.

In the upstairs of the inn in Asgard there are two doors that both have a different coat of arms on them. On the left side door is the exact same lion that is in the coat of arms of Finland. (At least in the remastered version)

This is amazing! I just stumbled across your channel today but grew up watching my brother play ToS on gamecube and eventually myself; it has been a HUGE part of our childhood and still nostalgic and love today. Something I have always felt so beautiful about the game were the attention to detail, the artwork (you mention the backgrounds, etc here and loved that you looked at the paintings), lore, and world-building. Your level of analysis is something I always wish existed, so thanks for all the hard work and sharing :) if you ever come across their designs for glyphs/ spell circles & symbology, that would be a great video as well!

Fantastic finds! One bit of info I can help you on is that the “sleeping creature” design is very clearly the little squirrel creature that is Nausicaa’s friend/shows up again in Laputa from early iconic studio Ghibli movies! I've used dolphin to do a bit of looking around ToS myself, and the gamecube version actually has Noishe listed as a playable character too. It seems mostly broken and missing data, but does have Fireball and First Aid, along with a Pow Hammer DX equipped. I loved your videos, especially the secrets that can be found looking through extracted textures! I have not found much else as far as data goes, but there are two items called The Chosen's Bible and a Step Ring. Also the Rename Gem but that one has been found before.

That Zelos fact makes way too much sense, I was confused for so long as to why Zelos is better when he's such an easy character to get. Kratos on the other hand seems worse and yet he's harder to get.

omg Zelos's mansion tots looks straight out of one of those digest books now that I think about it. also it's NUTS and a little regretful the affinity system was simplified for the final game kinda. that original idea where you HAD to have alotta points with the z man in the thing to keep him around is rly interesting. I wonder what other big game changers they had planned for it... In the final game it's just for getting some minor alternate scenes; nothing crazy like REMOVING party members. It's neat! totally understand why they toned it down though. I THINK MOST players can't help themselves and just continue staying nice to Colettie the whole game, so she probably dominates the chart of most playthroughs. I know younger me would have been PRETTY BUMMED if Zelos was written to presumably always die~ COOL VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tysm for some stellar content! FUN FACTS FOR YOU: did you know Lloyd was voice acted by Robin from Teen Titans? ALSO, this game was (allegedly) made by the same studio as Megaman 64. One of the shopkeeps is the exact same sprite and I believe one of the songs in the shops is also used in Megaman 64! I can link an image of her if you're interested!

Japan loves basketball, and are actually really into the NBA. I’m a huge sports fan as well as being huge into JRPG’s, so seeing some AI love in a Tales game made me lose it 😂 Back when this game was being made he was a top five star in the NBA and one of, if not the most popular at the time.

Would it be possible to swap Noishe character ID to one of the 8 slots? There was a method expanding the slot by 1 in the gamecube version to have Kratos and Zelos + everyone else in your Party (probably works with the steam version too), I wonder if that would work for Noishe too.

According to my friend who managed to slot him, he is very very buggy and it crashes the game most times. They stopped developing him early on (if that's what they were intending in the first place)
