I picked up this game about 2 weeks ago on Steam and played this game nonstop the minute I had any free time; Just finished it today. So out of curiosity I checked KZbin for new game + related info, and stumbled upon this. This video is awesome! I feel like I've been playing this game completely wrong. I've only used Lloyd for practically the entire game, I could never figure out how to switch characters mid-combat (using xbox 360 controller). I definitely want to use Regal now!!

Funnily enough, neither Kratos or Mithos can use Shining Bind in this battle, the only Mystic Arte the enemies can use here is Indignation Judgment (Mithos obviously, only once). Thankfully he also doesn't cast Time Stop either, as they'd be hell if he did.

Haven't seen this fight this well done since Vercsase did it. Phenomenally done, bro! NIND with no prior knowledge of the battle makes it more impressive. The vid should be called Cam Clarke vs Super Lightning Blade, though :P Lastly, I agree with RR. Xillia 2's cameo was solid with an orgasmic BGM as well but it was missing.... *something*, y'know? The series doesn't quite make 'em like this anymore. Vesperia's was the last truly diverse and epic one. Here's hoping the next Mothership gets in touch with its roots with more than just a few cameo costumes. As usual, I'm thoroughly impressed with the way you wrapped up a game. :)

Tbh, watching these Ex-Dungeon fights and with Kasumi streaming Abyss Arena the other day made me miss how fun the old games were in terms of fights. The new games are really missing a charm the old ones have, and it just hurts re-playability and to see how lazy and uncreative namco is now. Outside of having horrendous dungeon design, the fights here are pretty well designed xD.

Yeah, I hate to admit it, but the extra dungeons have just been getting sleepier in their appeal. There doesn't seem to be a tremendous amount of incentive to go down into "temporal space areas" which is just a lame way of saying "black and white repaints of previous dungeons".

I assume that was the Super Arrange version of Beyond the Beginning? :D From what I heard, and I can't completely prove it 100% because it was from years ago when the PS2 Symphonia was the main schnitz, but I don't think this fight's enemy AI is programmed to use Mystic Artes that often or at all despite we know Kratos and Mithos have them. Bottom line, they have a pretty low chance of doing them. 14:09 "That which we call evil is destined to grow in the hearts of all humans." The line that will, chronologically, be the opening line for Phantasia in Aselia's future. So I guess that wraps it up huh? Will you be doing New World with all the additions the European version got?

Nah, this video was ready with song and all for like 2 weeks already, but I did smile a bit when I read the suggestion on the other vid and was like: welp Flegan will like this one lol :D Like I said, I don't have much info or experience with this fight at all in Mania, so I had to improvise and hope for the best. I could troll so much about this video lol (like Yuan asking for Lloyd's Exsphere even though he doesn't know him or Regal saying that 3 heroes are worthless enemies D:) Great fight, you handled them very well (Mithos must have a crazy Intelligence to deal that much damage o_O). I mean I thought I was gonna be alright based on the damage Raine and Kratos were taking and then boom Regal on Critical HP O_o I don't think I have ever liked a post game dungeon done by this series honestly... it either involves uncreative layout design, RNG up the wazoo, mass recycling of enemies (and bosses) and some of them involve grinding battles for something in order to move on. (Believe me Xillia's magna zero seems ok compared to Xillia 2's EX dungeon... at least you get better stuff out of it though)

omegaevolution I pretty much think the same. The only Ex-dungeons I "liked" are from Destiny DC, Vesperia and NDX but they all rely on Boss recycling :/. Though I am not particularly fond of Symphonia, I have to admit the dungeon designs in this game are easily the best of the series... which is why I was so shocked when I discovered the Ex-dungeon. I am sad to hear that about X2 (but I think you can get the Mint costume in it so i'm ok with that hohoho). At least it can't be worse than Rebirth's Ex-dungeon which is just atrocious

omegaevolution I have to agree. A lot of the extra dungeons I played really don't have the best mechanics. I was okay with the Cave of Trials in Star Ocean 2 (definitely not Last Hope's) and the Seraphic Gate in Lenneth (dear god not Silmeria's, that one was horrible), but I don't think extra dungeons in the Tales series have been very creative or palatable. Then again, I think extra dungeons in general have just gotten really bad and bland over the years. I think the one extra dungeon that I found appropriate with a neat twist at the end was Dark Cloud 2's Zelmite Mines; the dungeon wasn't insanely long, it was straightforward in its approach and it had a couple of nice surprises along the way. I don't need to find ultimate weapons or items, I just want to extend the gameplay in an enjoyable way. Remember the two they added to Chrono Trigger DS? Wow, people really wanted to kill the developers for putting them in as "extra dungeons".

In another Tales game (I think Tales of Fandom vol. 2) you get to see more of Mithos's abilities (I remember he used at least Holy Lance there). He could also fight with a rapier and seemed to have some of Kratos's attacks, since Kratos was his sword mentor. It's not because he only used Ray and Prism Sword in this battle that it is the only thing he's got...

Spell cancelling now requires 999 uses of that particular spell you're trying to cancel. For example, in order to get the ability to spell cancel Thunder Blade, you must have used Thunder Blade 999 times. Spell cancelling is still possible, but takes a lot of time to gain it. If you have the time, it is still really worth getting.

you could get this fight in the ps2 version i believe, since this fight wasn't in the GC version. But the costumes, no, since those costumes are cameo costumes from later "Tales of" Games which would not have been on the original PS2 version of Tales of Symphonia.

I've tried that too, But i find she sometimes just runs about the field or just stands there when I'm getting slaughtered and need some healing and then when she starts my hp is too low and I die. The CPU won't waste TP so they only cast revitalise when your about to die and sometimes I find that's too late. Maybe my strategy is wrong or something like that though, anyways thanks for the tip.

+CEJAS GATON Go to Mithos' castle and run around and find these 2 stones (one is found by defeating an angel that is stationary, the other stone is inside a chest). Once you find the stones, come back to the main gate and a puzzle will unlock (and these random coloured boxes will appear and you have to put them in each side portal thing in a specific order). Once you solve the puzzle, there will be a chest that has the sacred stone, which allows you to skip travelling through Derris Kharlan to go back to earth, once you're past at the end of the game. After that, you go to Sybak, go to the library place thing and there will be some weird book with an exsphere on it. Click it, and then you can finally enter the dungeon. However, just remember, that Kratos/Yuan/Mithos can only be fought on the PS2 or PS3 (Chronicles) version. GC version makes you fight some evil knight.
