This was my first tales game I picked up along with the strategy guide back in the gamecube days when I was bedridden for 2 weeks after my surgery. I popped some vicodens and played through multiple times on NG+ and got everything. Tales of series is now my favorite titles.

This version looks better than the remastered version we just got and that's kind of messed up. I'm glad I bought the PS3 version way back then. Plus the PS3 version has the sequel game too. Plus it gave us a dubbed option for the whole game in Japanese with the original Japanese VA's. DOTNW may not be a great game but preservation is important and again it's a bummer the port from 10 years ago had more effort put into it than the latest release.

Several months ago I was at a secondhand gaming shop and I was looking through their stack of old Nintendo Power magazines they were selling. I found the one where they covered the original Symphonia and so I dug further...I also found the one with Emil on the cover. Needless to say I was dead and bought them without a second thought, Symphonia is one of my favorite Tales of all time :)

I remember playing this back then, both salty because I was having to play a tales game other than Graces (my first one) and braindead through some of the cutscenes because I don't understand how _dark_ this game was. @@theashenogre8948 um... No. Vesperia main plotline is one of the weakest in the main tales of games. Characters are great though. Story? Nah, generic, the main conflict is barely defined, all over the place, the threat does not feel threatening and not even properly explained. It is a mess. Don't get me wrong I love vesperia, but your claim that it has better story is simply not true. Ask just about anyone in tales community and you'll get the same response. Vesperia is one of fan favorites and rightly so, but definitely not because of amazing main story. Not going to argue any further though, you are free too believe whatever you want. I just bought vesperia a couple days ago to replay it sometime, what a funny coincidence that you brought this topic now haha

This game was one of the best JRPGs of all time. a true classic, and still widely considered the best Tales game. Not to mention the english voice acting was also amazing. Lloyd Irving was done by the same guy who did Teen Titans 2003 Robin.

It made me wonder why there are two versions of Symphonia's opening theme songs. Then i realized from the lyrics of both songs that Colette sings 'Starry Heavens' for Lloyd, and Lloyd sings 'Soshite Boku Ni Dekuru Koto' for Colette. I made myself too emotional due to this realization.
