Reason for me buying again… Tales of Symphonia was one of the first JRPGs I ever fell in love with (alongside with Kingdom Hearts)

I don't understand why the fame doesn't run at 60fps across all platforms. It ran at a perfect 60fps on Gamecube and that was 20 years ago

Because all of the versions, other than the Gamecube, run at 30 FPS instead of 60 FPS and all other versions are based on the PS2 port.

@@qster4 Doesn't matter. Plenty of remasters have come out with an increase in fps compared to the original releases. Skyward Sword is a perfect example. It was originally 30fps, got re-released at 60.

@@WolfieGirlSheena I agree that the lower FPS is something that definitely should have been fixed. With how powerful Xbox Series X/S and PS5/4 are, a game like this shouldn't be running at 30 FPS (or any game on PS5/Xbox, for that matter). If the Switch port is any indication though, this was a lazy "remaster" job. I'm not saying it is something to be accepted, just that this is the reason for the lower framerate. I doubt it can be fixed, but I hope that it does get patched.

I love Tales of Symphonia but can we talk about tales of abyss omg that's game change my life as a kid the gameplay was fun running around in circles trying to hit powers and the song of the hymns oh my God 10 out of 10

They could use the PSP version, it needs a translation and some higher resolution assets, the core game is still great. It´s been done with games like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion and Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle. I´d buy that it´s been like decades since I played it on GBA.

@@cactusman07pimi can agree on this. phantasia needs a modern release as it was one of the earlier rpg’s that was not given enough credit in NA. i like the fast paced style (since i like fighting games) compared to turn based (smt/persona/final fantasy)

Titles are received upon fulfilling certain criteria, (it's different for every title) one could be beat 200 enemies on hard or mania, one could be cook for the wonder chef, use no gels until this point in the game, etc. Normally titles give a value from 0 to 10 for stats 0 meaning this stat won't increase when you level up, 10 meaning you have a 10/10 chance or are guaranteed to increase this stat when you level up. Costumes however give a 0 for every stat unlike other titles.

I'm asking because I'm recently new to the tales games I've played tales of vesperia definitive edition and tales of arise both a few times and i love them both. So much so i keep going back and replaying them both. It sucks its not cheaper but it is a BN game and they do go on sale pretty quickly, but it's still nice to see the older tales games making it onto the switch, their fantastic jrpgs and a good investment of time

we have it bad in the uk its full retail price of 50 pounds so about 55-60 dollars even though the pound is stronger and just for a remaster i'll wait for it to go down as its not worth it

yeah the battle system was awful on it. You could just sit there with one hand and mash the attack button over and over again to beat the enemies. Plus navigating on the world map was awful. On the plus side, I did like most of the characters, but it was weird how they covered their backstories AFTER you beat the original game.

Nah, dude. 30 frames kills it. A failed remaster attempt, bloody cash grab coming off of the success of Arise. Put some effort in if you are doing a remaster, otherwise don't bother.

Tales was originally released on the gamecube, and was later released for the ps3. I have the ps3 version, there is no ps2 version, at least to my knowledge. The main advantage is the 1080p or higher since the ps3 version was in 720p unfortunately like most ps3 games. But I still plan to play the original ps3 version before considering a next gen version.

So the real question is... Is this a remaster of the remaster PS3? because imo the PS3 version was not that great. Played much better on the GC as I have compared while playing both. If this is a NEW remaster from the GC version or the JPN PS2 version then this might be worth the purchase.

PS2 as well but that version NEVER left JAPAN but the PS3 version to go with the Switch PS4/PS5 Steam/PC version its a port of the PS2 version.
