It exists outside space and time in the unknowable depths of the Sea of Souls, the realm beyond our realm that idiot savants argue gave birth to all that we know. Commorragh’s makers, or rather architects as they would claim, did not fashion the city as one place. Rather each of them used ways unimaginable to lesser beings to fashion their own secret enclaves out of the Immaterial Realm to serve as fortress, sanctum, pleasure palace or arena according to their whim. In time the hubris of these “architects” grew so great that they created something that breached the very walls between realms. As all crashed into ruins they fled to their enclaves like rats into their holes. In time, as they grew ever more fearful of the dreadful child they had sired together, those that survived the tempest strove to connect their realms. So steeped in torture and murder were they that they had no choice. They must do so to feed one upon another and whomever else they could bring beneath their hand. And so the eternal city was born.' -Adept Xalinis Huo. Hereticus Majoris. 'Welcome fellow traveller, welcome! Whether you are a simple observer or perhaps an unwitting participant in the unfolding drama before us please be most welcome. Unfortunately I must begin by breaking with some of the ordinary dramatic conventions at this juncture. You see this is the second of a series of three parts, a triptych if you will. Hence we must perforce begin with a recap, a résumé and a reappraisal of what has already occurred, as tiresome as that seems. Those of you who have followed this darkling tale thus far will already know most of these facts and so I hope you can forgive my indulgence of those only lately arrived. If you are confident in your recollections then I invite you to proceed without diversion. However, some perspective is useful both for those ignorant of prior machinations and for those many great minds that failed to grasp their immediate import at the time. First then, our stage: Commorragh, the eternal city. Dark, terrible, delicious Commorragh, where pain and subjugation are the meat and drink of ageless creatures of unfathomable wickedness. To fully understand Commorragh one must understand the wider universe that bore it. So, to begin with here is a secret that if properly understood might change your perception forever. All of reality, everything we see as static, safe and secure, is in fact in constant flux. The grains of sand on the beach demonstrate more solidity and longevity than the cherished absolutes of the worlds we believe in. You see our material universe is born of Chaos and our reality is nothing more than a passing fancy of the Dark Gods; an infinitely short moment when anarchy is frozen for long enough for us, myopic and stunted as we are, to perceive substance and believe that there is such a thing as ‘natural order’ in the universe. Such hilarious conceit! What amazing hubris! Mighty Commorragh is a facet of reality born out of hubris, and a very different one to the random dross thrown up by nature. It is a pearl consciously aggregated out of the spittle of creation by ancient, mortal minds that thought themselves the equal of the gods. And what a place they made for themselves. Beyond Commorragh and its enslaved sub-realms the material universe moves on: civilizations rise and fall, stars implode and the whole rough scrimmage over ownership of the galaxy continues apace. Within Commorragh a long, dark midnight reigns that has gone on unchallenged for millennia. Its inhabitants eternally cheat death and avoid their ultimate fate at the claws of She Who Thirsts, the daemon-goddess of their own creation. Sensuous, sadistic, pleasure seeking, these are the dark eldar, last remnants of an empire that spanned the galaxy in its time. Few have fallen as far as the inhabitants of Commorragh without being destroyed utterly. Still, pity the poor Commorrites, trapped upon a stage of their own making. They can take brief forays in the material realm to assuage their gnawing hunger, snatching what they can to carry it back to their eternal city, but they remain ever-hungry. Every day She Who Thirsts drinks a little more of their soul and that growing emptiness can only be filled with the suffering of others...' - Harlequin known only as "Motley" 'The flow of events is now sweeping rapidly to its conclusion: a flock of dark birds settles on the carcass it has made, a school of fish darts together at the approach of a predator. To begin a description of an ending one must surely begin at the beginning, but that is a tale unto itself, and in any case the beginning too often flows from a previous ending. I think you’ll agree it’s a pretty quandary and no mistake. So consider this: We might say that this tale began with the Fall of the eldar race, a race of such brilliance and star-spanning genius that the entire great wheel of the galaxy was their playground. Their collapse, their Fall, only came about through their own hubris. Thinking themselves untouchable they unconsciously wrought an entity that could touch even them. Their doom was the manifestation of their own unspoken desires to indulge without limit, to inflict beyond sanity, to take and to ravish with a force so potent that their boundless passion became atavistic and unstoppable. Their passion gave birth to the entity the eldar call She Who Thirsts, and that entity went on to destroy them. We could equally say that it began with Commorragh - a place that was old and wicked even before the Fall. Commorragh, the great port-city nestled deep within the void. Commorragh, the unique node lodged into the vast interdimensional labyrinth of the webway, itself the key to the eldar race’s galaxy-spanning empire. Commorragh, the city of portals, from whence its denizens can range across all that remains of the ragged, oft-torn webway to take what they will from a thousand tremulous realities. Commorragh survived the birth of She Who Thirsts and the subsequent Fall. It seems such a little thing to say it thus, yet it was a dark miracle of such dimensions as to be almost incomprehensible at the time. When She Who Thirsts came into being the vast majority of the eldar race was snuffed out in an instant by the psychic shockwave of her birth. The very home worlds of the eldar race were dragged from the skein of reality and plunged into the roiling madness of warp space to feed the daemon-queen’s appetites. The eldar gods were overthrown and broken by the upstart usurper… And yet buried deep within the webway, warded and protected with arcane mysteries, Commorragh survived. Perhaps the truth is that it began with the denizens of Commorragh. They were too proud, too vicious and too desperate to bow to the madness of the doom that overtook their race. The Commorrites slew all those vulnerable to She Who Thirsts, and then they massacred the fearful, and then they culled the weak. What survived in Commorragh was a race of pure-bred survivors with the blackest hearts imaginable. They became a people of flint and stone, ready to set their faces against any vicissitudes unleashed upon their race by the uncaring Fates. They would live on, no matter the cost, clawing their continued existence from the belly of creation without gods or allies or friends to help them. Some say the Commorrites were like this even before The Fall, and that it was their own unbridled excesses that brought She Who Thirsts into being. Bitter wars have been fought over such contentions among the dwindling eldar kindreds that survived The Fall. In time wisdom prevailed and it became understood that such recriminations serve only She Who Thirsts. For she still desires the last drops of vitality from the race that gave birth to her. In the depths of the void and deep inside every eldar heart she lurks, waiting to consume the very last of them: a siren sickness, an addiction, a black hole draining away all life, all hope. But this is still all just ancient history. We must look closer to the present to find the origins of our current tale. Commorragh itself has been ruled over by a great tyrant named Asdrubael Vect for more than six millennia. This supreme overlord elevated himself from the ranks of the lowliest slaves by dint of his intellect, ruthlessness and daring. He swept away the ancient aristocracy and instituted a new order of absolute meritocracy in its place. For six thousand years only those cunning and bold enough to survive his blood-soaked reign have enjoyed the privileges of rank and survival. The tyrant has many enemies but few that could be called rivals. Past attempts to unseat him have been spectacularly bloody and ineffective, yet this has done little to dissuade those who would see the tyrant fall. Which brings us to the current conflagration; a trio of Commorrite nobles with dreams of a return to the old order plotted against Asdrubael Vect. These three, Yllithian, Xelian and Kraillach, led the most powerful of the old noble houses and hungered for vengeance against Vect. In their ambition they unleashed forces beyond their capacity to control. As masters of the physical with troops, ships and fortresses at their command, these nobles fatally overlooked the metaphysical implications of their actions. Events spiralled out of control to such an extent that it was almost too late to prevent disaster before wiser heads could intercede. You must understand that due to its unique nature Commorragh can be both stronger and more fragile than it seems. Its presence at the nexus of so many paths through the webway means that any sufficient perturbation in the void can set the whole, vast place thrumming. Native Commorrites call such an event a ‘Dysjunction’ and it is rightly feared - "Path of the Archon"

Baldermort, I have said this to tabletop tactics, I've said this to Leutin, Occulus Imperia, and Rho, and ill say it to you too. This glimpses into our shared hobby, these little ventures into a SciFi world we all love, from someone as skilled as you, is really a welcome reprieve. I'm a behavioral analyst. I'm in school for my doctrine in psychology. I have seen and made.more recommendations for diagnosis major depressive disorder, severe anxiety, and everything else. People need these excursions, they need these distractions, especially now that the holidays could potentially be negatively impacted by both economic pressure and social isolation. When you don the cloak and mask of Baldermort, you become a guide that reminds us that the things we love still exist, and someday we will get to do the things we love again. You become a harbinger of a better time and a better hope of a return to our hobby. And right now, people need hope, Baldermort. They need to know that their lives will continue, and they need to know the things they love are not dead or gone. They need to know that no matter how hard this gets, there will be a time, where they can play a video, and listen to a story about a galaxy that whisks them away from everything happening now. And at the end of this awful collective experience, they will get to go and play. To laugh, to enjoy, to roll dice, and forge their own sagas and legends. But until that happens, your videos, your care and your love of our collective hobby gives us that much needed break, and that much needed reprieve that holds us over. It gives us hope. Thank you

In any case when Hive Mind gets concerned....these guys have already crossed Tau, Tyranids and by default are in Imperium's crosshairs... and Necrons might like to have a word or two with them due to bad experiences with Webway and their kind in the past.
