You're not gonna have to worry about that for a while. The release date for Tales of Xillia 2 is in 2014 for the English release. There is not exact month yet for the release drop only that it is slated for next year.

I absolutely never thought I'd see this in a game. A JRPG that happens to be a direct sequel and has not only the main characters from the prequel as playable characters but the final boss. BOTH OF THEM. On the other hand anime does this all the time XD

Yes they are permanent members until the end of the game, another interesting thing to note is that there are also different storys such as Muset and Gaius Story

If I'm correct in Xillia 2 you have boss costumes for your party members. So for example you can change Ludger into Wingull, but you keep Ludger's moveset.

Isn't Velvet and Sorey actually pretty weak? Sorey especially. Their "special abilities" are pretty restricted to enemy types (W/e those malevolent things are called again). On the other hand, a few others have some fort of space-time/reality bending powers (Cless, Lloyd, Luke, Ludger)

Yeah in the Ex dungeon you can get skin costumes. Its fun although it take several going back and forth to get the lamps in the dungeon to get them. Right now I have Ivar, Prese Agria and Bisley!
