Alright gentleman, since you asked for it. First I must say I have been absolutely devouring this podcast. The conversations are insightful, well-paced, and a joy to listen to. Your breakdowns and examples in beyond the book make complex topics easy to understand. I also love the attention that DCC and Legend of the Five rings get on this podcast, two of my favorite games. Two notable takes on the attribute/skill systems that this episode didn't cover (tho it covered a lot, well done!) Pendragon: Opposite pairs of chivalric virtues and vices, and passions are used similar to attributes for resolution mechanics (sometimes even taking certain narrative choices away from players) in addition to 5 physical attributes including size and appearance to make characters feel quite distinct and well defined. Torchbearer (and other Luke Crane games) have many interesting twists on the classic rpg mechanics. Relevant here would be the nature stat, a sliding scale of how much your character is archetypical of their race vs how much like a weird adventurer they are. Notably, getting all the way to either means retiring your character all together!

Thanks for listening and appreciate it! Those are both great references and I totally see what you mean about Pendragon
