Why can we not proudly let the honourable historian speak in his mother tongue, to explain things in detail, at his most comfort? And simply subtitle or dub into English? I’d have loved that more.

It would have been more interesting if you displayed some ancient city plans done by Kempegowda(maybe overlaying it with the modern-day city), and also talk about the Dwaras he built in 8 directions. Even the legend of Southern gate construction is interesting.

I am from Honnavar(also called Suvarna Pura). This was a port city under the Vijayanagar empire which traded Gold (hence the name Suvarna or Honnu in Kannada) and also pepper the so-called the Black Gold in Europe. Earlier this was Kadamaba kingdom - the first-ever fully-fledged Kannada kingdom (today our coastal districts are called 'Uttara Kannada' and 'Dakshina Kannada'). Later we (Honnavar, Gokarna etc) were also under Muslim rule (when Ibn battuta visited here), also like shown at @4:24. Vasco da-Gama burnt this port town and the first-ever Indo-Portuguese treaty, the treaty of Bhatkal was signed! Bhatkal is 54 km down south from here. We are all much close to South Goa. So Please correct @6:35 the location of Bhatkal. It is much further north than it's shown @6:35.
