Definitely is. My Mum does that. The ironic part is that she has 6 kids(I'm the youngest) and she chose the(not insulting him) slowest sibling possible to make her favorite. My Brother, who is a year and 3 months older than me. I think it's how it was copy and pasted into the AI text to speech. Sometimes, copy and pasted text will contain a bunch of annoying indents. So it's not the voice, just the format of the text. It kind of ends up looking something like this. It not only affects how it's read, but since it looks so close to normal, it's hard to notice unless you know or are looking for it.

OP got taken for a ride by his sister. She didn't apologise. She what she did was negotiate the terms of her surrender under duress. She didn't want to apologise. What she wanted was OP's forgiveness, and to be able to appear in public as reconciled, loving siblings. She rode that affection and gravy train at OP's expense until it derailed in public and her parents became enemies and nearly disinherited. She was okay with OP being neglected, all up until she was implicated as an accessory to her parents neglect for OP. She _had_ to fess up and make a disclaimer, otherwise she would also be accused of fostering and being a beneficiary of her parents neglect, and being labelled a POS as well. That, and after her dad was threatened with disinheritance from the grandparents, that would naturally extend to her if she didn't make a show of distancing herself from her parents. Her saying that she thinks OP was okay with the neglect, or saying she was just spineless, are her excuses. Its an act. It paints her in the nicest light possible under the circumstances involving her brothers neglect. The grandparents only threatening to disinherit, but still folding halfway through, is an exemplery demonstration of where the dad gets his shitheadedness from. He has been babied and coddled his entire life, to the point where he genuinely believes he can be neglectful and abandon OP without consequences. And he is definitely suprised that there were consequences. There were never any before. That the parents apologised and wanted to take him back is 100% due to public perceptions of their image being tarnished. The resolution is also hilariously bad, because OP still came out worst off in the end. His parents will still get at least half of their original, substantial inheritance. OP's sister comes out smelling like roses, having already reaped years of benefits out of her parents favouritism. Having made an under the table apology to OP, she can now appear in public as the unwitting/unwilling participant to OP's neglect, thereby remaining undiminished in the public eye and the rest of their family. If she plays her cards right, she will slowly make up with their parents over this drama, and will be the sole beneficiary in their parents will. We already know they aren't leaving anything for OP. The aunt will of course gain a huge bonus to her own inheritance, that or the grandparents will splurge it on themselves. Having full custody might mean that the parents don't even need to pay child support until he is 18, not if they relinquished paternal rights under pressure from the family. By being forced to give up parental rights, they can also make a legal claim to void child support, as they can say that they were forced to do so. The parents aren't punished. The sister finangled her way into a pass. OP still gets kicked out, learns that his grandparents are spineless fops, and gets finessed by his sister.
