Ah so cool! Netherlands definitely has some nice gems for hiking or being outdoors! Even if it is so small 😜. Enjoy it!

Good video. Veluwe is a good area. There are more animals like dears, swines, foxes etc its very cool to see. But the veluwe is very big so more routes are available. Not very big hills so for the beginners its good to start and plenty to see. Thanks for the review! 😁

Thanks Marcel! And yeah didn’t spot any animals on this walk though except the fluffly Scottish Highlanders but great region for wildlife indeed😁

To be honest I can’t give an honest representation of how long the hike will take based on how long I took. Because I take time to film etc which always makes any hike or activity take a lot longer! 😅 but thanks so much, enjoy your weekend!

I thought a hike in NL was just a 'walk'. Plenty of hiking in Scotland. Should check it out. Good video again 🙂
@talesofodyssey2 жыл бұрын
Haha 😂. I mean in The Netherlands due to the good connection of hiking trails there are many good ones also long distance! But I would love to go hiking and check out Scotland at some point!
@georgethomson84932 жыл бұрын
@@talesofodyssey 100% recommend Scotland for it. Search online the West Highland Way. I live in Glasgow and can hike hills and mountains within a 30 min drive easily. In general the Netherlands just seems more connected with its infrastructure

Im surprised you found a forest in the netherlands that is uninhabited. Not kidding, I once heard there are no forests or mountains in Belgium or Netherlands.. Iris didn't explore enough I guess 🤷 ;d
@reneeijgenhuijsen3 Жыл бұрын
There are plenty of forests where you can walk. I live in 't Gooi and I can walk in any direction to find beautiful nature. The Veluwe is also beautiful! Anyway, look in komoot and you can find it!

Belgium has a lot more nature than the netherlands does. They have the ardennes which is an old mountainous area, more hills than true mountains. Theres also less people and farmland, so their nature parks are generally a bit bigger. Sure we in the netherlands have a good amount of forests and heather areas, but they are small and mostly flat and very man made with straight paths and beech lanes. I'm moving away from here for a reason and the main reason is the lack of true nature and mountains. The little nature there is lacks variety and this sense of adventure. Once you've done this hike you've kinda seen most of it.

we have no original forests left in the Netherlands or no natural ones I suppose? They have all been cut down at some point. All the forests here are planted/maintained one way or another. I think most forests are uninhabited tbh, most are nature reserves and they usually don't want you to leave the paths (it can be destructive to the area and in some places dangerous, things like bogs are difficult to notice and people have died) or enter some specific areas (most of those are animal only to give them a place to go without humans). They're really pretty tho and there are always a lot of animals around. The mountain part is completely true for the Netherlands tho, I think we have some but anyone outside of the Netherlands would not consider them mountains. We are where the glaciers were during the last 2 ice-ages so all the land was pushed down, it gets hilly/mountainous as soon as you cross the borders
