I've spent 41 hours building so far ... less than 2 minutes into this video I already learned something. Hehe, double right-click to focus. Ahh. So much better! This is an excellent, quick, and useful tutorial on the camera and interface in TaleSpire. Thanks!

The little things you do in this video to help drill in the controls is probably overlooked by a lot of people but I just wanted to say that these videos are exceptionally well done. Things like including the little "clicking noise" when talking about the double-click. People remember things based on their sensory perception, so things like this go a long, long way in regard to retaining the information. Best Videos on the client hands-down.
@istallri2 жыл бұрын
Many thanks! And spot on for the click sound! It is hand placed during editing to emphasize even more my point :) I'm happy to see that you appreciate the work put in and even more that it helps you!!

@@istallri Being an avid builder in a lot of games I came into TaleSpire not really sure what to expact, it's definitely a different experience but you made the learning curve a lot easier. A *lot* easier. In my experience when it comes to building in programs/games in general the controls are the biggest hurdle. Once you get those down the rest you can get. You went on to give a detailed run-through of your entire process which honestly, is pretty invaluable. Not a lot of people put the kind of information out there that you did. It's almost a "not-so-secret-secret" to most builders that planning and mapping is super important, or even real-world references. Most people who find videos see someone building something amazing and think to themselves "I'll never be able to do that" because most videos put out there never go into things like referencing. You're actually the first person I've ever seen put it in a video as part of their process. Goes a long way IMO. Have a lot of respect for you.
@istallri2 жыл бұрын
@@Sabamonster many thanks again :) I do believe that everyone has something to share and given the right tools should be able to express themselves in some manner :) And yeah, references and planning are key for everything! My streams of the castle build show even the added step of the block out phase that I've started doing later (blocking out the crude shapes and volumes so avoid redoing stuff later and better plan for insides and spaces) I come from a place that is not at all artistic so I do feel the insurmountable wall it can be for new users to create art when you see what other good artists do. So teaching my learnings is my way to help :)

if this game had player movement on click with no bases it would be flawless.... the best of its kind. It probably already is, but that tiny animation of a PC moving is just orgasmic...
